Description
Practicing animation again. Studying Yutaka Nakamura for any of you who know him.And for any of you who is wondering, yes it is an attempt at animating a scene which would fit on Sword of Stranger.
and about why the guy is hitting a still sword which seems harmless, please donΒ‘t complain about that, it was just a practice on movement and style, not on the actual use of the movement.
Sword of Stranger Β© Fumihito Takayama (I think)

I like the anticipation, but the poses are quite awkward. I don't really see the point in having his right arm moving like that when it is empty, it really doesn't contribute to the movement. If you haven't already, I recommend that you read the animator's survival toolkit.

yeah I seriously had no idea of what I was doing XD and I really liked your animations, movement was very realistic compared to most of the animations I do, and I think I'll give the animator's survival toolkit a try, thanks a lot for the suggestion

You didn't edit this from another source right? This is 100% your original animation, right? If so, how many frames did it take to get so smooth? And how long did it take because the shading and everything looks like it could be official!
I'm sorry for the questions, but I'm studying animation and if you made this on Photoshop then that would help me a lot, that's all I have, and I want to make an animation with Photoshop when I get better with my artwork. 8'D (This is a real inspiration for me to keep working at my drawing/animation skills ^^)
I have Photoshop Elements 8, and I have Macromedia Flash 8 (I can't get a higher version than that, because that's the only one I can find with a direct download link. My dad doesn't like it when I use torrents). I also have Sony Vegas Pro 9 and Adobe After Effects CS5.5, please tell me if I could one day make an animation like this with those programs, or do I need others?

OMG epicness, question how do you animate in phototshop like do you do a sketch and then animate the hair and clothing sepret ?

Poch0010 In reply to 801qsc [2012-01-24 11:59:53 +0000 UTC]
thanks I usually do a sketch with just like the anatomy of the character, like draw the body shape, but with no detail at all. and no, I animated all in one layer. if you check closely, you'll see that the body moves in each frame, so does the clothes and the hair

Very impressive Poch, its fluid, nice camera panning, and overall, very amazing. Yutaka Nakamura, hes done some Soul Eater scenes, thats about all I know about him But this is interesting, I might check him out now
I don't know if you've seen Norio animate anything besides Naruto, but he seems to resembles him somewhat in style and fluidity, hopefully you will find this somewhat interesting [link] Again, really nice job ^^
