We were now close to our friends flat and neither of us had dared to speak. After refusing to take my boyfriend's hand I felt too miserable to try and conjure up a conversation. Before Charlie had a chance to push on the door bell I kissed him on the cheek and mumbled so only he could understand "I'm so sorry Charlieburg … I know I've been off lately." My boyfriend carried on as if I hadn't tried to love him as much as I could before letting him go. Every time we stepped in our social groups we had to forget that we were in love. We had to forget all the sweet moments spent together cuddling or simply being ourselves. No one could know we were together; it would mean having to let go of people we loved.  I could hear feet running to the door after the bell but I stayed close to Charlie trying to remember every thing I loved about him before having to forget it momentarily.
Ed opened the door and smiled at us. We took off our shoes and walked through the flat to the living room.  My friend sat down on the couch and Charlie quickly fowled. Ed pointed to Tom's door not even speaking the words. I had always wondered why no one wanted to wake Tom up.  He was so sweet when he woke up. I don't think I ever saw my blue haired friend bad or frowning. I walked to the door and slowly opened it. Being careful not to walk over one of his many instruments I walked to the sleeping boy and sat beside him.  Slightly nudging him I spoke his name and he rolled over opening his eyes. "Hey love … Me and Charlie came over. Do you want to come and play Portal?" Tom looked up at me and shook his head. "I want to sleep with you in my bed!" He said pulling me in a hug.
We stayed like that for a couple of minutes until Charlie came knocking on the door. He opened the door and stood for a couple of seconds then ran out of the room. I remember seeing his smile grow into a smirk and his eyes going dark. I tried getting up and running after him but Tom was still hanging on to me tight. "What was wrong with him?!" He asked. "Never mind I don't care!" He cupped my face in one of his big hands and kissed me. I pulled away quickly and pushed myself out of his hold. I ran out of the room and saw Ed standing in the middle of the room.
"Where did he go?"
"He left Alex! What happened? Run Alex!"
I ran out of the flat and stopped in the street. Where could have he gone?! I had an idea so I got in a taxi and told the driver to get me to the closest train station. Charlie would be at a little park they had found on their first date together. They had spent so much time there just looking at people walk past and seeing the leaves grow and slowly die. During the  train ride I kept thinking of my situation. What would I say to Charlie?! How could I fix all I had done wrong? What had happened with Tom? Why do I feel like I want more of what Tom gave me? I had Charlie now, so why couldn't I get over what Tom did?
