"Okay … Yeah I guess you can stay over here for a while! I know my mom said you could stay over but I should ask Alex if he doesn't mind because you know he lives with me!''
Charlie walked over to the couch buried the phone in his sweater and poked Alex in the ribs. He frowned at him.
"What?"
"My cousin wants to know if he can stay over. Is it okay?" Charlie asked almost pleading with his best friend.
"Yup! Why not? This should be fun!"Alex went back to what he was doing and left Charlie to his conversation.

Charlie had spent the day cleaning up and making sure his cousin would have everything he needed. He even took the train to pick up stuff he knew Frank would love. When the doorbell rang through the flat Charlie was still in the shower so Alex walked to the front door and opened it. In front of him was a lady about his age and a small child. She looked confused and she asked.
"Hrm sorry … I guess I must have the wrong flat! Would you happen to know where Charlie McDonnell lives?"
"Yes, Yes I do! He lives here. Hello my name is Alex I live with your cousin."
"Oh so you're the fabulous guy Charles keeps talking about?! I'm so happy to meet you!"
"So am I! Here you can come in. Charlie is still taking his shower but I'm sure he'll be out soon."
"Thank you so much but I should really leave or I will be late! This I Frank my son."
Bending down to be at eye level with him Alex smiled and put his hand forward.
"Well hi there! I'm Alex. Would you like to come in?"
Frank looked at to hand and smacked it away pushing the adult aside and running in the flat. Alex was still shocked but managed to get up and look at his mother. She looked at him with a small smile and walked away. Alex closed the door to the flat and went looking for the child. He found him in front Charlie's room, sitting on the ground.
"Hey, Charlieburg?! You have a young man that wants to see you."  Alex knocked softly on the closed door.
The door opened with a swing and the younger man came out of his room. Charlie was half naked and still pretty wet from the shower but he bent down and picked up Frank in his arms and kissed him on the forehead.
"Hi Franky!"
"Hi! Mommy is letting me stay here for a while! She said it would be a week!"
"Yeah I know buddy! Here this is Alex."  The child put his hand out like the older man had it before and Alex gladly took it and shook it very gently.
"I'm sorry I pushed you … I just really wanted to see Charlie!"
"It's fine. Would you like to come in the kitchen with me while he gets dressed and I can cook you something to eat?"
"Oh yes! I really like peanut butter and jam sandwich! Can you make me that?! "Frank asked while Charlie put him down.
"Of course I can! Come on it's over here." Alex reached out a hand and Frank grabbed on to it to follow his new friend.
Charlie smiled at the scene and closed the door to finish getting ready. He was happy Alex had so easily become friend with the 4 year old. He had always been so sure that his flat mate would be good with children and what happened only confirmed it.  Alex was amazing with anything and that's part of why he loved him so very much.

When he finished getting dressed Charlie walked in the small kitchen to find the two throwing peanut butter at each other.
"I'll get you!" Alex screamed at the 4 year old grinning at him.
"Not if I get you first!"
"What are you to doing?!"
"Hrm… Sorry love … I …he … we had some fun!"
"Aww but Frank is covered in peanut butter!"
"Its fine I'm not hungry anymore!"
Alex looked at Charlie and decided he would be the one cleaning it up.
"Come on Mommy Charlie wants us to go wash up! Then we can go in my room and play."
"Ihihih mommy Charlie and Daddy Alex!"Frank smiled up at the two men now standing beside each other.
"Come on! To the bathroom!"

The two came out of the bathroom laughing. Charlie had prepared tea for Alex and himself and half a cup of hot chocolate for his cousin.
"Yay! Hot chocolate! Thank you mommy Charles!"
"Thank's love! Alex had murmured in his ear. I love him! He reminds me of you sometimes..."
Frank had laid on the couch and looked like he was about to fall asleep so Charlie pick him up and carried him to his bed. Alex had followed his best friend and wished the small boy a good night sleep.
"Do you want the light on?"
"No! Stay with me! Charles can come on this side and Alex on the other! Please..."
"You see this is why he reminds me of you, you just can't say no to that." Alex said, walking up to the bed and getting under the covers. The younger man did the same grinning.
Frank cuddled up to Charlie and took Alex hand; pulling his arm over him and putting it gently on Charlie's waist.
