Description
Charlie had invited Alex home on a weekend between their moving into a new house. It had been good to see each other but something happened that weekend that changed their life forever.
It had been a lovely Saturday with rain of course but it had laid sweet dew on the grown that had been especially pretty.  The whole MacDonnell family and their visitor had been sitting down for lunch when all of it started.
"Would you mind helping me with something in my room Alex?"  Bridie had asked finishing her sandwich.
"Sure!" He had responded getting up to put his dishes in the sink and heading up to her room.
Charlie wondered why his sister had not just asked him to come as well but decided not to worry maybe it was to prepare a surprise or something.  He went into his room sticking an ear close to the wall so he could hear Bready and Alex talk.
"He won't be happy about this you know?"
"Yes I know but I can't stop myself... It's too hard to let you go like that. Can you come to my room tonight after he falls asleep we can continue this... I'll move the bed so it won't hit the wall and we'll have to go slow but you know it's better than nothing."
Charlie moved back to his bed and looked into space trying to find the missing piece of this puzzle. They were talking about him because he was the only other man in the house. But what were they doing? Why was the bed being pushed for tonight? Why would I be mad? Why slow?
His thoughts were interrupted by Alex coming into the room and sitting down on the floor facing his friend. His hair was messy and the Puff factor had been intense like when you play with your hair for too long. His clothes were all ruffled. They had been snogging! His best friend and his sister had been snogging! How could Alex have done that?! She was so much younger! She was his sister and most importantly she was not Charlie! He was the one who was supposed to be snogging his friend. He had loved him for much longer than Bready had even known him. He was even moving into a home with the guy. Just like any married couple they were going to live together but Alex had kissed his sister! And what they were going to do that night!?
Anger showed in Charlie's face and he said coolly: "I'm going out... When I come back we need to talk about moving in together..."
Charlie shouted to his mom he was going out and did not know when he was going to get back. As soon as he crossed the front door tears crawled down his face at an alarming rate. How could this happen?

When he got back home he asked his mom what Bridie and Alex were doing and why they weren't home. She answered they had gone out to a movie and would be back soon. He got up the stairs and ran to his room throwing himself on the bed. He stayed there a couple of minutes when he heard a knock on the door.
"Mum not right now..."
"It's not her..." the familiar voice of his best friend. The older man came in the room closing the door behind him.
"Alex what are you doing here? Didn't you go out with Bridie?!"
"Yeah I did but then I remembered you were going to be back and you wanted to talk to me so here I am..."
"Alex I can't move in with you! You can ask Bready instead I'm sure you to will be just fine..."
"Why can't you move in with me?"
"It's not because I can't but more because I don't want to do it... I can't live with the guy whose gone snogging with my sister! Its way too weird and I can't live with you because I love you very much and if I could I would scream it every day, and whisper it every night and think it every second of ever day for the rest of time itself. Ale I can't do this anymore, it's too hard to have you this close with being able to be with you..."
The puffy haired boy laughed and walked out of the room. He actually full on laughed. Charlie almost started crying at the lack of emotions his best friend was showing.  He never expected him to laugh at this announcement.  It was so hard to stand there while your world fell apart.
What stopped the boy from crying was a flash of beautiful puffy brown mass running to him and kissing Charlie.
