but she isnt getting enough experience out in the real world like before. ruby is out there fighting grimm on what seems to be a daily basis and from the few small scenes we've seen (and the leaked prototype trailer) she has gotten insanely better at what she does. wishful thinking aside i cant see yang coming out on top
and all things considered taiyang would stop the fight before it starts. that'd be a neat scene

I think that no matter how hard Yang trains, she will never be the same until she overcomes her fear of losing. Until her encounter with Adam, she always believed that she was indestructible, that there was no one she couldn't beat. It turned her semblance into a crutch, her defense isn't as strong as her offense because she wanted to take the heavy hits so she could get stronger. Now that she has faced her own mortality, that fear of death still there. Even if she spent months training and even got a badass robot arm, until she gets over her trauma she could never be a Huntress.
Ruby, who doesn't accept losing as an option and has only gotten stronger on her eight month long mission, would beat Yang hands down.

but i do feel like shes been through a lot of crap and has given up hope and lost motivation too easily
and now that i think about it, if yang really was the yang with that fire inside her, i feel like her true characcter would make her pick herself up and go punch and figure things out even if she is in a crabby mood the whole time
cant say about ruby but i hope she gets more bad ass scenes and screentime lol

It's not that she's afraid of losing, it's that she knows now what could happen if she does lose. She almost died, she would've died if it weren't for Blake. I don't think that she counts her fight with Neo as a loss because she hadn't slept all night and her semblance was drained from before. But Adam's sword cut right through her aura and took her dominant arm, effectively shattering Yang's confidence that there's no one that could beat her. Not to mention the fact that Yang's semblance is fueled not just by how many hits she can take, but by her desire to win, and she has currently lost her will to fight.
Now that she has to get used to a prosthetic and relying on her left arm to take the lead, it puts her at a great disadvantage. But you're right, she still has that fire inside of her. I could tell by the Season Four trailer. She's not going to give up yet. She just needs time to recover from this, and needs to learn that in order to be a great warrior, one must not rely on only their strength.
And I do hope that Team RNJR gets into a lot of awesome fights too!!!

Ruby's fully functional and has been honing her skills by fighting her way through Grimm for six months. Yang is out of condition and has been sitting on her asset, feeling sorry for herself for the same length of time. Not only will this be one-sided, it might be a slap in the face Yang needs to ler her know just how badly she's let herself go.

Well it would depend on 3 things: Does/will Yang have a 360 attack/defense mechanism. Can Ruby use her Silver Eyes freely, and how? Is Ruby faster than Yang and will that make up for the difference in strength. I personally think Ruby would win on account of her speed giving her a pretty hard to surmount advantage against a 1-armed Yang who has limited attack and defense with just 1 arm.

i say ruby due to from we seen yang does not have a 360 attack plus her main arm is gone along with no practice or training so she not only rusty she inexp in one handed combat while ruby train wear she has gotten better learn new tricks such has the rose pettle storm thing wear she can use to get out of the way from attacks up close plus ruby knows all of yang strength and weakness wear she can counter anything yang can throw at her
