I never really understood the fangirlism about Rhaegar because, how can I say it... he's very dead since before the beginning of the books, so he's never really there. AFFC made him a bit more relevant in my eyes - Cersei's trauma for being refused, the grudge of the Martells... So here is a little homage.Related content

Honestly, I think it's the tragedy of Rhaegar that people are taken with. His actions brought the kingdoms to its knees and the effects are still being felt all these years later. We still don't know why he took Lyanna Stark, but that one thing catapulted the whole story creating a chain of events that is A Song of Ice and Fire. That and by all accounts save Robert's he would have made a better King than all the challengers who have come. For a piece of tail, the realm is still bleeding.

I think its because in many ways Rhaegar is the prince charming stereotype usually seen in fantasy/fairytale stories.....expect dead and with a somewhat crazy family

Yeah, I'm just like, the characters we actually *meet* on the page are so many and so vivid I don't really feel the need to dig up the dead ones XD Though after six years in this fandom and ADwD I admit I got a bit more interested in the Rhaegar enigma, myself. What the hell was he up to.

And I love the series of "A Song of Ice and Fire" I just passed the middle of A Clash Of Kings, and I'm still sad about the results of wedding in the Frey's Castle. I wanna weep XD.
