I love Norwegian Fjords <3Like: really, really, REALLY love
So there I was at the vet clinic one day; forgot to bring my macbook with me, and it was one of those days with no patients/costumers at all. Luckily I had brought some of my art supplies and this came to be.
I had no reference for the breed characteristics so I just went with what I had in my lame memory, thus there are bound to be some inaccuracies, please bear with me XD
I still love this though, it had been a while since I had drawn something I liked when I did this.

My favorite breed is Friesian - that curly mane and tail... aah, I love them so much <3 <3 The horses I've owned so far have all been Arabians, and they're gorgeous too though (:

My favorites are the Lusitanos, followed very closely by Fjords.
I also love Friesians, Akhal-Tekes, Icelandics and many heavier/heavy breeds, but those two are my top favorites (:

You are welcome for the fave. I may be biased but I think when the time comes you will see what I mean about Fjords. They are just so calm but with get up an go. I remember we had Sven a day, he was 1 1/2 and I went into the stall with him with an open umbrella and he just turned an looked at me like "oh hello". They are like lap horses. Lusitanos are great too, but quite a bit more fire there. I love the Fjords because I can trust them to be just so very sensible. Plus they're cute, cute, cute.

Right there with you about Fjords. Have two. Waited 20 years to get my first one. Had many other horses but always had my sights set on having at least one some day. Now somehow I have two and one is a mare with great breeding that I am planning to get more Fjords from! The other is my Avatar, Sven who is a very silly, loving gelding who was my first and that I got when he was 1 1/2 (more affordable that way). They are just THE best! He is going to do his first evaluation this summer in August for the draft and advanced draft test. Check out my profile gallery. I have picks of him from just a few days old to almost current.

They are just so wonderful! I'm still waiting for the day I'll be able to afford to own a horse. I'd love to have a Lusitano, since they're my favorite breed and they're such beautiful, powerful and sweet horses, but Fjords are a very close second favorite. I think it's because I've never been with any Fjords IRL while I'm usually surrounded by Lusitanos, I think when the time comes that I get to know Fjords better I won't be able to choose between those two breeds <3

I really like the little folds and wrinkles on the neck. The horse reminds me of some Renaissance paintings i saw of Palio horses, with the small delicate head
