Regarding the PEN TOOL - err.. it's kinda hard to explain XD; ..which is why I didn't really explain it. It's like the bezier tool in oekakis or MS Paint -- in a way.
Click once at the starting point of your line, and click and drag in the direction of the line (at the spot you want your line to end). Play with the dragging until you like how the line looks (don't let go of the mouse button!)~ and then do the right click > stroke path thing. Look at this if you can't visualize it...XD [link]
LAYERS - if you're confused about what I meant with the layers, take a look here --> [link] That's the layers palette for the image in the tutorial.

hmm sorry for posting my triple post, but what settings is your brush on when you use the pen tool?
Not color or size, but it seems that I can't seem to get the lines nice and tidy (resolution/clarity of the lines?), and I swapped Opacity and Flow to 100%, to get a solid line with the brush, but thats all I did basically.

Three pixel brush size, settings as shown~ when I use the pen tool (with black, especially, as black is pretty strong) I set the flow to 44%. ^^
You can adjust the depth as needed -- it basically sharpens your line. :]

just curious, did you sketch that in Photoshop? if so which tool? I can't see to find a suitable tool to sketch straight on the computer, especially when Photoshop tends to not like curves that much.

I have a question tho. How do you trace over the picture to where it doesn't look all digitaly and actually looks like a pencil sketch even though you really did trace it into the computer?

Use a gray color, and a small brush when you sketch it

It should work on PS6... XD XD I heard that PS5 and PS6 aren't very much different~ a lot of tutorials are based on photoshop 7 but can be done with 5 and above.
But then again, I probably don't know what I'm talking about. :9
