Description
A few years back, I have begun my research of the Baltic states' armies of the pre-war period, which later led me to my love for Estonia. But before Estonia I was deeply interested in the Latvian army, as out of all the Baltic armies it appeared to be the strongest, due to their economic advantage of Riga's industrial complex.

With domestic built trucks and jeeps, tanks from Britain, anti-aircraft weapons from Sweden, anti-tank and howitzers from Germany made the Latvian army a small giant amongst its peers. Alas, nothing came of this equipment as, with the fall of Poland, nothing stood in the Soviets' way to occupy the three nations. This little comicbook-esk page is my remaining of a what-if scenario by where the Baltics take up arms against their invaders in a desperate stand for the survival of their statehoods.

Vehicles depicted are the Ford-Vairogs V8 3-ton truck and the Vickers Commercial Light Tank armed with a Vickers machinegun (the standard heavy machinegun of the Latvian army at the time). The other weapon seen is a Lewis light machinegun of WW1 vintage.
