For hundreds of years, Iran (with various names) was a secular country with progressive social relations. Unfortunately, in 1979, Ruhollah Masawi Khomeini made an Islamic revolution in Iran, taking advantage of the fact that many people were against the rule of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. After overthrowing the Shah, Khomeini transformed Iran from a constitutional monarchy into an Islamic republic.

I draw attention to the fact that radical conservatives are everywhere. I am Polish, my country was ruled by PIS for 8 years, which tried to destroy democracy and introduce authoritarian conservatism in Poland. In the USA, Donald Trump wanted to do the same, he even gathered his radical supporters who attacked the Capitol in 2021, which was an attack on liberal democracy. I want you not to downplay such things and try to fight conservatism, especially radical conservatism, as much as you can.
