oh god I'm going to hellAnyway the new Halloween episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Awesome.
So after the episode finishes, I was like, wheee, tumblr ponies! PrincesslunaprincesslunaprincesslunaBRITTISHPONYYEAHHH
and then I saw people were shipping Princess Luna and Pip and I was like whut
what is wrong with you that is wro- and then I thought about it and I was like
Princess Luna was on the moon for a thousand years. And she didn't lose her mind and although it was a very long time it was not like forever. Obviously she is very very very old. So everyone must look that young to her.
So then I was like
what if he was like, Princess Luna, let's be friends! And she was like... friends? because she doesn't have any
and then he showed up at the castle and they like
played stuff
and he wasn't afraid of her
and then he grew up and they were still friends
and then they were like
ponylove<3
but then he kept getting older
and older
but she wouldn't
she'd just keep being that young pony
and then eventually he would die
but she'd still be young
and omg sad. ; ;
and then I shipped it.

No, if you think about it; this is what Celestia is most likely worried about considering Twilight and her friends now.

The staff confirmed Twilight will not outlive her friends when it comes to the immortality question.

Believe me, I know.
but what I mean is that as it stands currently in the universe Twilight is an immortal Alicorn and the rest of the bearers are mortal ponies...in other words Celestia is probably worried about Twilight outliving her friends [unless if she had engineered all six of them turning into Alicorns from the beginning and now its only a matter of time, in which case she's making sure everything is ready. Β And since we're only clued into things that the main 7 and CMC know we aren't going to know that until it happens] but anyways, but on track, all of the fans with a bit of this knowledge will now that Twilight will be with her friends forevermore.

Yet the fact remains that has not been confirmed while it has been confirmed Twilight will not outlive her friends. Also keep in mind Cadance status as an ascended alicorn and the fact she is shown as a teenage babysitter and then an adult. There is no reason to think this is a concern and if it was Twilight would have spoken to Celestia about it and found it put to rest.

now aside form that; knowing Celestia as a bit of a trickster mentor she might just say "Time will tell"...although I don't see her as one to take unnecessary mistakes [she CHARGED at a Changeling queen moment her cover was down...granted that wasn't the BEST choice right there but she was counting {most likely} on her being stronger than the queen in terms of magical energy; but due to feeding off of shining's love for cadence for most likely three or four days she was more powerful than Celestia figured] back on track; true she may try to do a trickster thing but considering twilight's sanity slippage in S2 she won't want that to happen again with her worrying several times over; so Twilight probably knows [which is why she's calm and cool and the only things shaking up her sanity is the occasional Pinkie Pie or Discord visit] but we don't get to know due to keeping us in suspense.
Now should the Mane six become Alicorns alongside Twilight and if Cadence will be outliving Shinning Armor, and if Twilight remains immortal; then doesn't that mean that Twilight will outlive her brother?
Now lets also take into effect of the Mane six becoming immortal Alicorns; Fluttershy, as it stands, is a mortal pony, Discord is not, moment Fluttershy passes due to old age, what will Discord do? Β Will he curl into a ball, hide in a cave and weep his sorrows away and then come back thousands of years later feeling better? Β Or will his mind break in his sorrow and we have a repeat of the Discopian era? Β [I refer to the time-period in MLP cannon of Discord's rule as "Discopian"] Β So, if Celestia is indeed not taking any unnecessary risks she will see to it that Fluttershy [at least] becomes an immortal Alicorn as then Discord breaking or not will not be a question on Celestia's mind [a worried ruler is an unfit ruler] and once again, we are being kept in the dark for the sake of suspense.

I always had a thought the pipsqueak got sick and Luna gave him some of her blood, thus healing him and making him immortal and possibly an Alicorn to rule forever with her

the word we Tropers use is Fridge Horror. That moment in your day when you're perfectly happy and you go to open you fridge for a beer or a can of ginger ale or some old lasagna and suddenly you realize in the moment you're opening the door that your favourite cartoon characters are all going to be outlived by their kindly mentor figures, and that this has happened to them hundreds of times over, but they still smile and act sweet all the same.
