Description These are not elegant weapons from a more civilized age. These are two desperate attempts made by people who weren't preapared for war at keeping up with an unforgiving foe.

You'd better keep them away from mud!

Some very fascinating design work here; has one ever thought of looking at a weapon that has had a notorious reputation of being not very good, redesigning it, ironing out the flaws & making it practical?

Here's a possible list to look at:-

*Chauchat- French LMG during WW1; apparently worked well enough but when it got muddy.... Oops! & an exposed crescent magazine also doesn't help!

*Breda Model 30:- This Italian Machine Gun made the Chauchat look like the Sistine Chapel of gun design! Overly complicated & as a consequence jammed or even broke if improperly placed!

* SPAS-12:- Awesome looking Shotgun, made a lot of movies, TV series, games etc awesome... Franchi had a good idea but had a predicament... Should the Shotgun be Pump-Action or Semi-Auto? They did BOTH!! Making it very expensive to make, complex & some issues with shell feeding.

* Desert Eagle:- As with the SPAS-12, Iconic Mag fed Handcannon that was too specialist for its own good! Heavy, some feeding issues & vicious recoil courtesy of the .50AE round (had variants shooting 44Magnum or 357 Magnum) but when properly used & taken care of... Do work!

* EARLY M16s:- Promoting a gun telling soldiers that "It doesn't need cleaning" isn't going to earn one any brownie points for all the KIA during the Vietnam War as a result of malfunctioning M16S....

I'm sure there's a lot more....

Good knowledge there can DEFINITELY say "Yes" in the case of the SPAS-12 & DEagle (Desert Eagle)

Though I do know the Polish Special Forces GROM actually has a version of the Desert Eagle as an optional Sidearm!

* Will tell you: the original game "Soldier of Fortune" had the best depiction of the DEagle (or the "Silver Talon")
