Description
EDIT 02/05/2013: Remade from scratch, now drawn in ArtRage with a slightly changed scriptKorean translation: [link]
Russian translation: [link]
Pinkie logic and Fluttershy being Fluttershy.
The comic was inspired by a clip from Simpsons I saw a while ago (it was about their heads and hair, though).
Edit 02/05/2013: Also, no one could tell me for sure if ponies have fur or hair on their body (different sources = different answers), so I added a little joke about that
Everything drawn by me in Art Rage Studio Pro 3 with a tablet. I used Ink Pen and Felt Pen tools. Lettering was done in Inkscape.

MLP, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy belong to Hasbro. Art by me.
If you repost it, please link back here (but you can't post it on DeviantArt!) | And watch me if you haven't done it yet. And if that's okay with you.

It definitely looks much better, but at the same time, they're in this blank green room instead of Ponyville. It's a little weird.

They didn't have to be in the same place as in the old version.
And many comics use such minimalistic, blank backgrounds

You know what's funny girls grow their nails long and in MLP it's mostly colts and stallions like Big Mac and Shining Armour that have noticeable hooves connection? O_o [link]

I thought that too, but "experts on horses" were pointing out that "omg ponies and horses have hair! rageface" So I changed it from fur to hair

Have you ever pet an orangutang? They have the coarsest hair ever. I guess hair vs. fur is a matter of the length and the texture.

I'm told it's about whether or not it changes length with the seasons.

So fur changes with the seasons, while hair just grows?

geez, hair on her body... A border between hair on her leg and her hoof. You can't see it...
The so-called "horse" specialists claim the "fur" is actually hair.

there's been about it in other comments -
you can't see where Pinkie's hoof end, can you?
But you can see where Shining Armor's or Big Macintosh's hooves end.
Pinkie can't see the line where her hoof starts.

I would definitely call their body hair "fur." Every shorthaired dog is called furred. The name doesn't change because of the length . . .

Pony-Berserker In reply to MetellaStella [2013-02-20 10:05:38 +0000 UTC]
I googled it, and the results were not really conclusive, but people who called themselves "experts on horses" wrote it should be 'hair'. I'd call it fur too.

MetellaStella In reply to Pony-Berserker [2013-02-20 21:26:29 +0000 UTC]
It's all made of protein. There's literally no difference, as far as I know. If someone wants to give me an analysis that identifies a different structure, fine. Otherwise, who cares?
Don't let the snobs tell you you're wrong, or there's only one way. My mother is an unofficial horse expert and she says the word is just "coat." The only time she would name it horse hair is if you were making a horse hair sofa. XD
I would probably call the "hair" on humans' bodies "fur," too, except people would look at me strangely.

Well, looking at Pinkie's "hoof shining" scene from KCaFO, I think we can finally tell where the hair ends and the hoof begins.

Probably, the legs and hooves are combined together
But the truth is that MLP ponies look better without "original", i.e. real hoof colour.
