Because could you really resist giving a sleepy Twilight a scratch behind the ear? You know you want to read her a story and give her scritchy-scratches! Don't even try to deny it!
Twilove for everybody!
And with this last picture, I conclude series one of Pony Petting. But fear not, series two will follow shortly - after a little break to sort out commissions and maybe breathe some life into one of my other projects.
I hope you've enjoyed this little series and that its been worth the wait. I had a lot of fun drawing them (as well as a lot of frustration, stress, and bashing my head against walls... it's part of my creative process
) and I'm very proud of the final products. Probably some of my finest work so far

Me: (I'm sitting by the fire reading a book. As I'm reading, I hear the sound of hooves on the floor. Twilight walks in, eyes half closed and a bit sad.) Twilight? What's wrong?
Twi: I... can't sleep.
Me: Why not?
(Her ears droop.)
Twi: Sometimes I wish I was still a filly. Mom would tuck me in and sing me a song. On occasion, Shining Armor would read me a story.
Me: Aww!
Twi: Can you read me a story? I know I'm a grown mare, but...
Me: How could I say no to a pony as adorable as you? (I get a book off the shelf.) Get over here, cutie pie. (She smiles and hops into my lap. I begin reading. She rests her head on my chest.)
Twi: I'm so glad you're friends with me and my friends.
Me: (I begin scratching her ears.) You six are so adorable, you know?
(Her eyes go wide.)
Twi: R-really?
Me: Yep!
Twi: Thank you so much! Hey, can you rub my back now?
Me: Of course.

I need a little break from doing series work, just for a little while, but I don't want you to think I've given up on the pony petting series. Absolutely not! I just need to recharge my batteries and get some inspired ideas for each of the next group, and with luck, it'll be another successful series
