Twilight comes out victorious in a duel against Starlight Glimmer, proving what kind of power a Princess of Equestria can wield.Hurray for happy endings!

This picture started out as just an excuse to practice some lighting ideas between commissions and grew wildly out of control! Before I knew it, I was doing two pictures simultaneously. This picture gave me the chance to try out lighting a scene with multiple sources of light, as well as experiment with a new method of depicting magic use. I really quite like the idea of magical sparks cascading down from the horn - I think that's something I'll be using again in the future

In light of Starlight's redemption at the end of Season 5 and working very hard to reform throughout Season 6, this is how I see your amazing picture. I suppose it's a minority view, but on FIM these two powerful ponies now defend each other's honor and it's something I totally support.

I so wish Twilight would have beat her.
1.)Twilight is the embodiment(element) of magic
2. She is an Alicorn
3. Her cutie mark is the legit symbol of magic
4.She had a reason and purpose that was much stronger than Starlight's
5.Twilight is the princess of friendship and friendship=magic
6.Starlight Glimmer was a unicorn
6. Starlight could have been powerful, but twilight admitting she was more powerful was demeaning to the show and all the episodes it worked toward.

Starlight Glimmer was really impressive in the season finale, honestly. She held her own against Twilight and flew with unicorn magic like it was nothing. Even Twilight never got that trick down.
I dunno if it was natural talent, working her flank off or both, but Starlight Glimmer was a damned powerful unicorn.
