One of my wife's co-workers, a brother of the man who owns the farm to our west, had a dog who died after a long illness. He was one of those dogs that come along once in a lifetime, and his wife was heartbroken. He commissioned me to paint a portrait of his long-time friend, to remember him as he was in better times. He presented the painting to his wife at Christmas. We'll find out how it went when my wife goes back to work this week. I suspect Kleenex will be involved.
