Description
FULL VIEW PLZ KTHXThis isn't my fault.
In one of my other pictures, I responded to a commenter that hands and feet are particularly difficult to draw (because they are), and that person responded jokingly that maybe we should all just chop off our artwork's arms and legs with an ax. While I didn't go quite that far, this is what resulted from that.
Of course, the irony in this picture is that I had to draw my own hands realistically and reasonably well. That made it kind of fun, since I haven't drawn realism in a long time... the last time was when I took a basic drawing class in college several years ago. Sadly, some of the contrast was lost during the scan.
This is something of a two-parter. To see the conclusion, click here [link]

Why not! Amputees need pictures drawn of them too.

Exactly. They are people too, you know. Except they are people with no arms or legs... And I do hope they do not lost everything at once.

Hahahaha XD there are so many times I wish that I could do that while I am drawing.
Of course there is that one tiny problem of not being able to draw the picture without hands....Oh well, we could always learn to draw with our mouths.
Nice job

Pshaw, draw with our mouths? That's what our nostrils are for! We were obviously given two so we could draw twice as fast!
...what, you mean not everyone draws that way? XD
Thanks for the comment and fav!

I needed to see this.
I've been looking around DA &such for tutorials on how to draw arms & hands since I need to draw a person for a project (because honestly, those are my downfall) when I came across this. I love it, and you drew the hands really well. xD

Hee hee, thanks, glad you like it!
If you haven't seen this one yet, I highly recommend it. It's a pretty good reference guide for drawing hands: [link]

"The limbless saga"
Lol! really for me legs aren't hard, it's mainly the arms that get me still.

It's not so much the legs as the feet! All those toes! I can't even imagine trying to draw hairy feet... *shudder*
Glad you like! ^_^

You cruel cruel fiend! How DARE you make the poor dear go arm/legless...
ok it's ok, I do this all the time, It's how I study, and usually my hands are no omre than abstract shapes so, I have no problem with floaty man. You could develop your anatomic style a bit more, but that's really no problem
The hands though are full of minor mishaps that make the whole picture look slightly off . They look very very cartoonis, in part because they are so uniform. Hands aren't of a uniform thickness. It looks like you took a hand with perfectly uniformfingers and slanted it. I know it was probably hard to draw and look at your own hands, (isn't it always?) so just take a picture next time. Also, the hands are short. It's a child's palm connected to man fingers. For reference, the index finger fully outstretched (tip to knuckle) is the same length as the middle of the back of the palm (knuckle to top of wrist), and it tapers around that. Because of short palm syndrome (SPS) the crease where the thumb meets the palm is abnormally short. Again, for reference, the thumb is about the same length (tip to knuckle) as the length from crease to mid wrist.
I like the shading on the right hand better, but I'm sure your scanner is at fault for the lack on the left hand. :B Scanners always are.
Floaty fellow looks downright indignant, poor chap.

While I agree that there are some flaws, for the most part, that actually IS what my hands look like. I suspect most of the problems stem from my redrawing over and over again once I had the basic shapes down.
Thanks for the tips on drawing hand proportions.

My drawings actually DO talk to me... ;_; Usually they berate me for trying to be lazy and not correcting mistakes, or they bug me if I don't finish their pictures quickly enough.
Thanks! ^_^
