Yeah I realize that is ice there but I had trouble finding an hdri that had good enough snowy ground. Added a tree to cast some doubt on whether that was really an icy lake. Lol.

In the future people use implants like these to insert chips of various types. When you join the military as an enlisted person you are given the basic modelwhich has three slots. One is for the military chip and one is for a skill chip and the third is typically an entertainment chip.
the military chip includes training, targeting and essential data between you and your military unit. It is like a hud, and you can review it by closing your eyes and reading the data from it projected in front of your vision. It also includes an email and communication tool.
the skill chip can give you a skill you lack, such as the ability to speak a different language, the skills of a champion boxer, etc. these chips can be purchased from both legit and black market dealers.... of course while you might gain the skill if you don’t have the tone or physical strength of a heavyweight boxer you will be hurt using a chip like that.
entertainment chips are given out by the military like candy, but can also be bought. They contain games, porn, recipes, videos, the contents of a library etc whatever entertainment you are into.
owen has the basic model but Boyd has about 6 slots in his chips, and he also has one isn’t he back of his head on his neck. Boyd’s neck chip also gives him rear view vision which as a brain he can handle. Most people can’t tolerate viewing the world from all angles but brains can.
