Description
A long time ago I cameup with a really fun concept for a game:It was about an secret island rich with animal life. Here, scientist were studying these animals in the wild and in special facilities. But when a alien spaceship crashed on this island things went wrong. The ship crashed and a leak caused extreme radiation throughout the island. All the animals started to mutate in monstrous creatures.
In the game you would pick one of the creatures and you would have full 3d freedom in roaming the island. At heart it would be a fighting game where you could send your opponent pummeling down a cliff into a lagoon (think predator final scene
Anywayz, the creature you start out with can also change form. It would change when you had inflicted numerous hits on your opponent in somekind of combo stance. See middle creatures. The creature below is what you would become after you finish the game. even more mutated and powerfull.

That game idea is genius! Sounds like a cross between 'Super Smash Bros.: Melee', 'S.T.A.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl', and 'Pikmin' (more similar to the other two, actually). 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.' takes place in the Chernobyl Zone (just called "the Zone") and you have complete freedom of movement (but you have to upgrade your equipment to progress into some regions that are radioactive). In that game, though, you KILL the monsters.
You don't have to, though, since not all monsters will attack you. Some only go after you if you're hostile toward them.

This would make an incredible game... like an updated E.V.O. with an extra-terrestrial steroid injection or something.

Sounds like a total blast!
I'd love to meet a programmer(or several) that was intested in an artists game ideas.
WE know what would sell, dammit!

I agree, There is too much game making going on that is too preserved about name brands, franchising and moneymaking. at some point the fun factor of games was lost.

Damn right!
I'll take a 16 bit gem over all the crap with a "fully interactive 3D enviroment" anyday.

'Out of this World' and 'Flashback' are two of the best 16-bit gems ever made, but as for me, I'll take the "fully interactive environment" -- especially if it's a first-person sho0ter of demented do0m.

I've played the original Unreal. It's fairly unique for it's time.

I found out about it just now, and have changed my mind due to the gore in it.
