I love the allusions to the ocean and the far away mountains, almost as if you live in a cabin in the woods, and you are on your walk to the beach. Completely perfect work, makes me want to study under you.

I like to observe real places and then just add a touch of mystery, and let the viewer go wherever they may. I'm glad it is taking you somewhere!

dude, this actually looks like a cypress grove. or mediterranean pine. thats actually what it reminds me of. pretty similar. anyway, looks real!

Thanks - cypress has such a rich colour to it's foliage, and such a gnarly texture to it's bark, it's quite a challenge, enjoyable but tricky.

It's a little island of contrasts, right on the doorstep of suburbia - thanks!

Yep that's for sure - though for a coastal scene, this one doesn't have much water visible!

You never learn if you never try! One good lesson is how to be humble - everybody turns out a lemon here and there...and waiting until you are really good - that may be a bit subjective. Sometimes the better you get, the better you think you should be and so you never get to show off your work (just talking in hypotheticals) - All the best with your art anyway!

I like how the focus and detail are spreaded all over the canvas in a really harmonical way. Simple idea yet very interesting to look at. Well done!!

Thanks I ended up obscuring the main focus behind the tree so as not to make it too predictable or obvious - glad you like it!
