Description
This is painted from a trip to Springbrook, a beautiful forested escarpment in the Gold Coast hinterland in SE Queensland. There are walks among the tall trees along the top of the cliffs which give a wonderful sense of scale and distance. This is what I was trying to convey.

Wow!!! Amazing use of color. You completely captured the essence of light and haze in the distance. While making things a touch more vivid, for art's sake, you managed this painting so well - it's still quite believable.
Normally, I'm not a real landscape fan. However, I think you might just have convinced me that I like *some* landscape paintings.

Myself, I am a lover of landscape. When I visit these places I am overwhelmed at what I see and so try desperately to record the way I feel about them.
Thanks for the comment!

I think you do an excellent job in getting the feeling across. It's almost like I feel I'm there (in the painting). Great work!

The original isn't but I do have a limited edition reproduction virtually identical to the original (giclee on canvas)

Scale conveyed, majestically. This is beautiful and the quietness and grandure is portrayed magnificently.

The blues in the distance against the warm tree trunk really pop. I like how it's set off to the side of the composition, too. Gives it room to breathe.

I love this image, kinda reminds me of the Hudson River School. Only the quality of light is more akin to Monet or an N.C.Wyeth. I am very pleased with your work here. I think you have captured the scale and atmosphere well. Those yellows and blues are magical and the tree in the foreground is wonderfully realized. Well done!
