You'd think she would at least try to approach the Equestrians peacefully for the sake of keeping her people content, but no... she had to declare war... and fail... again and again.

Even though Queen Chrysalis was a total bitch to the ponies, I like to think she does care for her subjects. All she wants is to feed and care for him. That is what a good ruler does. I don't like one-dimensional villains. Maybe that's why so many like her. Her character can be expanded upon. During two season finales she expressed that she did everything in the show for her subjects as well as herself.

It's a shame. I also preferred if the changelings didn't have their transformation. The whole point of Thorax's episode was to teach everpony not to judge someone because of association and something you can't help (feeding on love, being a changeling). In a way, the season finale weakened that lesson

that reminds me of when you can cure vampirism in skyrim game, that one person that follows you in the DLC dawnguard. one of the options of when she asks why would i want to get cured is "because i can be more comfortable around you" and she hates you for it

Of course, she's probably only ACTING motherly in order to feed on the love the nymphlings gave her. All evidence in canon so far has suggested that she's a manipulative, sociopathic tyrant, like those monsters who wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice the lives of nymphlings to achieve success, make her enemies suffer fates worse than death, and do plenty horrible, HORRIBLE things to achieve supreme power.Β
That's my opinion, at least.Β

I prefer seeing her as a Queen and mother, genuinely concerned by her people well-being and safety,
and that acts like a seemingly-unrepentant tyrant not to see her wrong doings against Equestria, because she would not feel good at all, to say the least.
Once again, they need a serious dose of diplomacy.

That's a possibility.
But by going the "easy" way - violence -, she made sure Equestria was going from "neutral" to "enemy" towards the Changeling Kingdom.
