He is a "small man" semi ape, semi human from Sumatran folklore.

Some consider they de-evolved from their prior form to sustain itself on the island. Much like the way elephants turn pigmy.

Fabulous reconstruction of the media-dubbed "Hobbits of Flores!"

Are you interesed in the other newly discovered early-human cousin, Denisova hominin?

Thanks! I am incredibly interested in the Denisovans - hopefully we find some more evidence soon!

Maybe H. florensiensis is a totally independent species that evolved within the forests of Indonesia. What do you think so?

Strange, even the proportions are apelike. I wonder if Floresiensis is a hominid that returned to the trees.

I feel like that's the most probable answer - either that or the first hominids were much more successful and widespread then we give them credit for....

This is a very interesting piece. Was it merely made on a whim, or perhaps a comission for a scientific piece about H. floresiensis?

My favourite thing about these floriensis pieces is actually your choice of type. Futura is always at its best when it looks like a 1950s science textbook.
