Ume-chan Bounces
Determination!
I think I will take a break from stalking her. At least it is clearΒ what motivates her , so I am sure she will make progress when I see her next time

Well I'll be,
the leg dancer inspired her!
and the blob bounces...
and it breathes...
I know it's a fictional character (I'd argue)
but I'm beginning to wonder just how this blob works...
Hypothesis so far:
Magic

We have seen her breathing from the very first time she came to be, though I am unsure how it works. I assume blobs breathe through their entire surface area, so, expanding the surface briefly to get more air may be a way to do it. There is definitely more chemistry going on than magic, but what do we know

For all we know it breathes,
But I'm not going to try and break it apart to find out how it works...
Instead I'll make a better hypothesis:
It's an advanced Amoeba
that requires oxygen to keep its organelles working...
(Seems feasible)

So, a higher level algae similar toΒ these .
Yeah, I am sure slimes are definitely more biologically plantlike than animal like, but it's hard to tell. They are probably their own thing, with attributes from both.

Yeah,
That makes sense to me
It also connects well with the "plum" factor with it too
Funny how we suddenly begin to find the biological workings of a fictional character

Fiction is reality for anyone that is part of it, and thus it exists, just not in our sphere.
It doesn't take too much effort to try and find similarities between what's ours and what's theirs. All fictions function on their own way internally, and we are just depicting our perceptions of them, some doing a better or worse job than others, and thus possibly depicting a separate fictional world altogether if they stray too far.
In other words, I tend to prefer thinking of working with fiction as exploring something that already exists, outside of our sphere of reality, and just trying to understand it and depict it through my view of it. Influencing it without respecting it's rules risks severing the connection with the fiction that was initially observed, and possibly tapping into one that is similar, but not quite same as the one perceived before.
...
Yeah...

Oh man this went deep, but I do understand what you mean.
Fiction is real if you are part of it, we just have different ways of seeing it
I do also try find similarities through fiction and reality often,
A number of times I have made enough connections to find that
even though it is fictional whether character or machine, I've found they can totally be real!
A lot of times I find there is a lot of science that goes onto a character that is supposedly fictional,
and to all honesty I like seeing when something fictional can be plausible!

Good fiction is always fascinating, especially when it suddenly clicks together and it all starts making sense.
