Not sure where she saw this but it's adorable.
Trying some different timing techniques and I think I will let Ume-chan help for a bit. She is simple to work with and has a lot of momentum to utilize. It's not that hard keeping her sketchy either (though I gotta try a bit harder next time). Though, seeing her without color just seems lacking, even if she is recognizable, at least to me.

Issue being: (this applies to many other things)
Whenever I make something similar even by small amounts of similarities,
I feel guilty, obviously with art I can't avoid similarities (Pallet, Style, shapes)
But for a character, I try keep it as original as possible avoiding all kinds of similarity.
of course there will be similarities but as the person I am It's hard to avoid.
(I'm that one human who ruins the mood ain't I?)

Then add a bit of your own into it and it will be truly yours.
Don't try to make it less or more similar, but instead look at what you like in your inspiration and try to derive from it with your own twist. It isn't always a visual detail, but a more conceptual thing which can be applied to other things you may be into.
Heck, if you look at any of my mindscape avatars, you will surely find many things they remind you of in design, but they are their own characters.
And heck, Ume-chi is a ellipse with two circles and a bent triangle on top. With a plum color scheme. A first grade geometry class ripoff xD
Giving life and personality to a blob has many options, so I don't see why one would think they are stealing.

mostly Because DA can be Pretty Fragile when it comes to these things, (Art theft being overblown)
But I guess Your right in the sense that it's a blob.
