Description
General theme: animationsAgain... wanted a simple 1v1 stickman fight... but no. It was so fun, though
The stick figure fighting animations are what got me started with animating, so let's see how better have I gotten since then. I think with it taking me only 2 hours to make and it looking so satisfying.. I think I grew plenty

I use OpenToonz for all my animations. It's completely free, real powerful, but also rather complicated and at times glitchy. But I have a tutorial for getting started if you want to give it a go:
[TUTORIAL] Start animating with OpenToonz 1.2Welcome to the second verson of my beginner OpenToonz tutorial!
This tutorial is about setting OpenToonz up and how the basic tools work so you can start making simple animations in it. More specific tutorials may come in the future.
The images are smaller for easier scrolling so click them to look at the big versions.
I will assume some basic computer literacy but if anyone finds anything hard to follow, let me know in the comments and I will try to help.
At the very bottom you will see a few sample animations which which can be made using only tools explained in this tutorial (animation skills not included).
[[ If during the tutorial you see an italic paragraph in square brackets like this one, you are free to skip it since it does not contain information required for the tutorial. Bu you may read through it to get further insight into some features that will be covered in further tutorials but for now will just have a short summary for those curious
Also, thanks for the favorite and welcome to DeviantArt

Thanks, though I think it has been outclassed by newer work, with more effort put in

Some are more moved than they move on their own, though

You animate so that one can actually sense the force and the impact. Impressive work, well done!

Thanks!
It's the hard part but it's the most important and fun part

That is true. It also makes the animation seem more interesting. If you're this good then continue to practice and you'd be able to create some seriously awesome fighting scenes!

This is soo awesome and intense.
That is one crazy fight sequence. That took just two hours? Wow, that's very impressive.
And I love how he gets back to starting position, which makes for a loop

I am surprised how good it came out myself
And it would be a real shame if it didn't loop, when the chance is already there.

Thanks!
It's as lifelike as 18fps lets it be. yet everyone seems to agree it's quite sufficient.

It's thanks to those flash animations I got into animating, so I guess this is a tribute to them

Yeah, you aren't the only one. Though the stickfigure culture goes a lot deeper than those few videos.
Stickfigure culture... sounds like it's a way of life.

Smooth moves, great effects...Β just great. Maybe the last movement when he kicks the poor blue dude feels a bit off but an awesome animation nevertheless.

PowerOfSin In reply to Sneiks [2017-05-20 07:01:03 +0000 UTC]
Yup, that last kick... when I was doing the landing, I was like "I need to loop this somehow... so the blue guy needs to leave the screen and red needs to get in the middle, and I don't want to drag on much longer... hm..."
It's weird but with the right amount of impact everything looks more legit

Sneiks In reply to PowerOfSin [2017-05-20 10:49:51 +0000 UTC]
It does, took me a few loops to see it's a bit weird.

Okay.....yeah,nice animation here! I like the fighting and intense moves shown here. I can picture characters fighting using those same moves. Also good job with the lines to show the direction or I guess impact of the attack!

PowerOfSin In reply to TheeArtist85 [2017-05-20 06:55:28 +0000 UTC]
Yay, that's a lot more constructive
I like to respond to everyone and just a 'wow' makes it a bit hard to judge what your thoughts are on it, and there is no conversation to be had.
And the impact and motion lines with combination of that camera shake do make for a pretty nice combo
