Description My reference for 's OCT.

Yeah....... I know.

He's kind of a bad guy... Just in case you couldn't tell...

Had to condense a lot of information into sort of a limited space, so just feel free to fire any questions you might have here.

*Edit* Fixed some typos, and added 'moving around like a horror movie weirdo' to Anna's list of strengths.

Audition: [link]

*Edit*

I thought I share some of the background information, in case anyone was interested in those things. It's all more guideline than rule, though. I'm fairly open to alternate interpretations of the character.

Dr. Insanity

Weight: About 160lbs (yeah, he's really all muscle and bone.)

Background (extended):
Born to a middle class family, he quickly caught attention for his mental aptitude (not to mention his freakish height), and raced through school, skipping grades at a time. When he was 12 he was 6'9 and in college. Naturally this made him very much a loner, and he would spend days straight in labs without sleeping.

His first renowned discovery was a form of blood treatment that could ignore blood type, and he would later push this discovery into experimental transplantation surgery (attaching arms from one person to another, heart transplantation, skin grafting, and finally brain transplantation). While highly successful, most other surgeons were unable to mimic the incredible difficulty and precision of his techniques (one person described him as having 'the hands of a god'.) Most people would frown upon his later trans-animal experiments.

He would eventually branch out into several different subjects including (immunology, neuroscience, and psychiatry). He has published several textbooks, but most were considered too 'avant-garde' for the medical community. He was doing extensive research on the possibilities of magic and human resurrection when the epidemic hit and he devoted all his energy to curing it.

He decided the best way to attack the virus was to create a form a heavy blood treatment that could fight the disease, but his efforts killed the patients, driving most mad before their deaths. When unable to find further patients (by now his section of the world was quite decimated) he injected himself with the disease and preformed the experiment on himself.

The treatment staved off the disease but had two side effects. The first was a mental side effected which caused severe personality warping. The second was blood degeneration, and in order to stay alive he needs to take healthy blood from others.

He continued his experiments while hunting and killing healthy survivors to continue to fight the disease. The flower was the first producer of anti-toxins (as well as certain un-confirmed magical properties) which he believed might actually cure and kill the virus.

Personality:
Before the virus, Dr. Insanity was an arrogant loner. His mind and his height made fitting-in impossible and he became and outcast who would spend days straight on experiments (he can go days without sleep.) He didn't really interact with most people unless on medical terms.

The experimental procedure caused personality warping. Now he's incredibly arrogant and misanthropic, and seems to take some small pleasure in sadism.

His normal mood ventures between ambivalence and annoyance, depending on if anything is getting in the way of his experiments.

One thing that hasn't changed is he puts science above anything (human life, or even his own welfare), and he sees the virus as a worthy rival which he will cure at any cost.

Further explanation of his abilities:
-He preformed an operation on his tendons which allows him to move extremely quickly. Think 'Bleach' flash step quickly. He can also jump quite high. He doesn't often bother do to either of these things unless necessary.
-Doesn't feel pain. He knows he's being hurt, but doesn't really notice unless in hinders his movement.
-Can fix himself from almost any damage. He can sow limbs back on. Repair organs. And even preform brain surgery on himself is needed. Anything he has trouble doing by himself Anna helps him with. He, of course, is an extremely talented and can heal others very well, but sadly will only do so if very VERY motivated.

Other Facts:
He has two talents besides medicine and killing people. One is basketball (for obvious reasons) as he can dunk flat footed. The other is the piano which, do to dexterity of his hands, he is extremely proficient (especially the music of this world's equivalent of Sergei Rachmaninoff), but generally considers music a lesser art than science.

Anna Stezia

Weight: About 100 pounds. Probably a little less since the experiment.

Background: Born to an lower middle class family, Anna was always quiet and shy. She, like the doctor, was a loner as well, but in her case, it was caused by her constant anxiety.

She was very intelligent and got high marks throughout her years at school. In addition, she was a very talented gymnast, which helped earn her a scholarship, and in college could have been a part of an Olympic level team (but declined due to performance anxiety).

She also proved to be a top rate nurse and was head of her class when she met Dr. Insanity. The two formed a strange relationship in which she would silently assist him in his experiments for long hours into the night. At some point their relationship turned into a very unconventional romance.

When the disease came she caught it early, and while he never openly admitted it, many thought the reason he was working on the disease so tirelessly was to save her life.

After he lived through the experiment, he performed it on her. He was forced to sow her mouth due to continuous involuntary screaming, a side effect of being brought back from the brink of death. She now continues to assist him on his quest.

Personality:
Before, Anna was shy and timid, and after the treatment this only increased. She is normally somewhere between sullen and skittish.
She doesn't talk much, and due to the stitches in her mouth, when she does her voice is very soft.
She doesn't care about science like Dr. Insanity does, and she isn't a big fan of seeing people hurt, but she doesn't really mind it either. She is intensely loyal to Dr. Insanity and when he gives her praise (which he rarely does, especially in public) it is one of the few things that makes her smile (even if the smile is hardly noticeable).

Further explanation of abilities:
-Dr. Insanity preformed a similar surgery on her tendons and she can now move almost as fast as he does. She also can maneuver better than him as his height is somewhat of detriment in that area.
-She was primarily and anesthesiologist and is very good with throwing needles. Although these days, Dr. Insanity is only concerned about the fact that they can't move and doesn't care so much about whether they can feel pain or not.
-She was nimble and flexible as a gymnast, now she is inhumanely flexible and is double jointed in every limb (including the ability to rotate her head 360 degrees).
-Like Dr. Insanity she is a fairly good healer, but has little compulsion to do so. If Dr. Insanity is heavily damaged she is fairly capable at putting him back together.
-If damaged, Dr. Insanity always puts her back together.

Other facts:
-She likes cute things, especially bunnies. (Even if Dr. Insanity tells her it's stupid.)
-In addition to being a talented gymnast, she is also a very skilled ice-skater.

Well, Dr. Insanity is AB+, and therefore a universal receiver, so it really doesn't matter to him. But, in addition, Dr. Insanity's primary course of study was transfusiology (although he branched into many after that, and was especially effective in the field of experimental organ transplantation surgery), and he was 14 when he wrote his doctoral thesis on blood transfusion, and developed a method of blood treating.

In fact, when he started trying to cure the virus it was these blood treating experiments he came back to, but the chemicals experiments killed most of the patients, and the first one that didn't (which he used on himself) had severe mental side effects.

Oh, and Anna is 0- (in case anyone was curious).

Sorry if that was overly complicated. I have a lot of extraneous information on my characters, but I leave most of it out because I'm afraid I'd bore everybody. Thanks a lot for asking.

Agreed. She seems like a very interesting character to go up against.

Dr. Insanity would probably agree as well, but I think that has more to do with his desires to perform dissections on people with magical powers to further his studies.

Either way, he was built to be a worthwhile antagonist, so I'm glad to hear it.

Making the needles in the audition bigger just for you, man.

Haha, but honestly I'm less worried about his needles than I am of what he plans to do after you can't move...

Wow. this guy is both cool and scary. (for some reason he reminds me of a silenthill monster) I'm intrested in what your going to do with him during the tournament.
you say he needs to steal blood to live, does he do it like a vampire? and blood type does not matter right?

Thanks.

Sorry it took so long to answer (working hard on that audition), but that is a good question to ask since I didn't really explain it very well in the sheet.

He has a blood transfusion method which can stave off the virus. He basically uses a tube to drain someones blood into his. The only problem is the process has some pretty bad (or more accurately, horrific) side-effects on the brain.

Blood type doesn't matter, as long as they're not totally infected with the virus, but the healthier, the better. He can go a pretty long time without gaining new blood, but the longer the weaker, which is one reason he's so eager to kill off a couple contestants when given the chance.
