Sorry I didn’t post last week, I was working on a picture but I just couldn’t get it to look right. So I took the week off to learn about mountains. Specifically snow-covered mountains. They have been giving me a hard time since... pretty much forever. I can’t say my skill-level is where I want it to be, but I definitely learnt a lot.

Something I learnt:

Snow in the shadow is blue (not gray) and sometimes it is really, really saturated.

It is easier (at least for me) to start with a rough drawing of the mountain underneath and then add the snow later. Keep in mind that snow (like everything) falls down. The sharper the incline the less likely it is that snow will stay there. This means that snow will cover the valleys, but a lot of the steep peaks will be showing through.
