Description Edit: I changed his right arm so that it's laying across the top of the bench (which was also added), and lengthened his left leg so to match the perspective of the bench a bit better.

I decided on a curvy bench because it really contrasted Ratchet's body, organic shapes vs. geometric. Also, a lot of Transformers characters have strange back-plates--ratchet included. I figured their benches, if they had backs, would have to accommodate that in some way.

HOLY FREAKIN' MECH!

This is a WIP for for wining 's May Challenge.

This image had to be the most difficult, not to mention technical, piece of art I have EVER done. Perspective and me normally don't go hand in hand, so I'm glad that it came out the way it did. Also, there's a substantial shortage of reference images of MTMTE Ratchet on the 'net (and I don't own any of the comics), which only added to the difficulty of the piece.

Ne-who, I digress...

wanted to see Ratchet relaxing on a bench after a looooooooong day in the lab. Maybe he's thinking about a nice, frothy mug of high-grade....

Eventually, this one will get my colored pencil/digital treatment.

Thanks. I personally think that song would be the perfect soundtrack for a wild drinking party at Decepticon HQ. And I have other ideas for other AC/DC tracks...

I really like the varying line weight, it gives it a heavier look and adds visual appeal. The perspective is really great. I think it would be difficult to see a direct profile of his left (our right) leg like that irl, but it looks fine here. As usual, I can't wait to see this colored.

I've been looking at lineart tutorials, and many suggested to "highlight" certain areas (i.e. those that are concave, convex, etc...) with darker lines. So, I ran with it and I'm quite pleased with the outcome.

Yeah, that leg is really bothering me the more I look at it. It shouldn't be too difficult to fix, just need to make it an oblique shot opposed to a profile one.
