I knew that day will come. The day when I'll type maleficent in google bar and I'll see Angelina Jolie instead of Marc Davis's Maleficent. I haven't seen the movie yet (please no spoilers) I'm not in hurry to watch it probably because of the actress. I always thought of Maleficent as older Italian-look woman. You know. Black eyes, red angular lips, black hair, long face,. Italian woman are the most beautiful I guess. Im Polish. Pitty

In greek we call her Μαγκούφισσα (ma-guh-gu-fis-sa) the one without anyone, alone. This is the name mostly used in the disney animated movie for the translation. There are other names with the same meaning like Κακίστρω (ka-kis-tro) meaning the "she-evil" , Δράκαινα (dra-keh-na) meaning the "dragon-like" she-creature.
Now for the movie of 2014 we call her malecifent but with greek letters Μαλέφισεντ.

As bad as a choice as Angelina Jolie might be, Elle Fanning was the worst choice of all. She may be a fine actress but she doesn't have the pure physical beauty of Aurora. Aside from blonde hair, they look nothing alike. BTW, great job as always.

PS: The polish version is "Czarownica" (translation : Witch) .... At least in Sleeping Beauty... I think they changed it in Maleficent for the movie with Angelina Jolie...
