Description Quick Cell shading tutorial for you guys. Hopefully It will help you!
The fur patterns I use when shading is really stylized, it took my forever to finally learn, it takes everyone time. So don't get discouraged if you don't get it right the first time.
Additionally, this really requires a tablet. This is also pretty much just for SAI users.

But enjoy! I hope this helps people learn my style of cell shading.

How do you usually get that sort of patttern for the fur? Like is it a specific style or is it just something you can do and train your write for it?

What you are doing basically is shading the clumps of fur. You can train yourself to see where the clumps will be. Also of course, the fur is different lengths in different places so that helps to shade. I suggest using reference photos of fur when shading, eventually you'll learn to see where the fur would be and shade it. But as always, remember the light source.

Also, this tutorial is a bit outdated, this is a more resent one --->

Thank you! I have always simply adored cell shading, but I never can figure it out nor seem to do it. I hope this helps me, I haven't tried it yet! I really think that this is a great tutorial and will really help educate others! Thank you so much!

You're welcome! This is rather old so I hope it helps. I do have a more resent tutorial, but I do need to do a more detailed one. Maybe a cell shading speedpaint tutorial would be more useful? I'll consider doing one like that.

In SAI, pen tool, opacity at 100,

density at 100. Layers at about 30% and 50%.

Gosh, this is incredible! I've always wondered how you do your shading XD
I use Photoshop Elements, but this might just work as the programs are fairly similar *crosses fingers*
Great job as always Jenn C:

Yeah, as long as you have the right brush, and and all, it should work.
