LOL! Thanks. ^__^ Now that you mention it, he does look put out. I was thinking more long the lines of totally limp and unsupported, but put out works too.

Maybe that's going on, too, in the back of his head.

Looks good, but I guess I am old fashioned I am not so big into the digital types of art, I prefer other mediums.

*shrugs* A lot of people do. I prefer not having a mess and being able to undo.

I have always enjoyed the concept of the tea party. This piece is quite whimsicle (sp?), which makes it lovely. Nice work.

Thank you. ^__^ The general concept was my mum's idea, but I added most of the details, myself. My pencil just refused to leave them out. lol

Then I guess it is a good thing you listened to the will of the pencil.

It makes me wish I was a little girl of six or seven again. I never actually had teaparties with my dolls, considering I don't like tea...but that's not really the point. I love the details in the little girl's curls, and the flower makes for an innocent touch! I can really apreciate hand drawn grass that you did in the front(only recently tried it myself(made my hand hurt, but it was one of the best backgrounds I ever did) I love the imprecinistic like bushes in the back, and the leaves on the trees are gorgeous. I love the detail you put into the brown teddy bear. It looks like you could almost touch him! I also love the cute design of the chair!

Thank you. ^___^ I normally don't care for impressionistic looks, but when it comes to trees (and especially when there is a really short deadline) I find it most useful. *nods*

Your welcome! Yes, it does work really well for trees! I learned that painting. I remember freating over it, to the point where I was crying, cause time was running out on the field trip and I thought it looked like a mess, till the teacher made me look at it from a far away angle. Then it actually looked like trees, sort of, and gave me an A on the project, telling me I was a good impressionistic artist.

That is very fortunate for you. ^__^ My prof tried to get me into impressionism. I told him I didn't like it and he said it was because I'd never really looked at it. Um...no. I didn't like it BECAUSE I'd spent the time to study it. lol. But, that's just the detail-freak in me talking. I'm starting to learn that it definitely has its purposes. ^___^

Maybe, instead of smoothing it, you could try overlaying a color over the arm, and setting the layer to affect hue. I've done that in the past to fix skin color in photos, and it works great. (that is, so long as you have the right hue picked out)

Prima-Donna In reply to Infog [2007-02-10 04:41:06 +0000 UTC]

Hmm...haven't tried that. I'll see what I think. It's really a matter of the scanner picking up the grain of the paper, so...I dunno if overlaying a colour will help or not. Thanks for the tip, though. ^_^

Her arm looks a bit like watercolor. I don't notice a whole lot of difference in the teacups. Makes it look like mixed medium. It's not bad, but I personally prefer the texture. It's still a cute picture.

Question: What's the spine of the red checkered book say? "ooking" as in "cooking"?

Prima-Donna In reply to Jacinto-Lorca [2007-02-08 22:12:03 +0000 UTC]

^__^ Watercolour, eh? Hmmm. Not intentional, but I know what you mean. It's the scanner's fault--it didn't pick up all the colour. Personally, I don't mind the texture that comes from a scanned colour-pencil piece, but it really really bothers me when the skin turns all blotchy (more so than is visible in this piece)...especially since I was turning it into a print! So, yah, I guess it's become a mixed media. ^_^

Yah, it says "ooking". I was thinking the long version would be "Southern Cooking", but it could really say just about anything. *nods*
