Did some hand studies on my Twitch, trying to get to know how it all fits together. I love finding the colours and figuring out the proportions. Still, lots to learn!

Here comes a lengthy reply! I spent some time just doing sketches of hands from references. Just plain pencil on paper stuff. Just the outline, getting a feel for the proportions.
Then I did the same in Photoshop, but in greyscale, getting the hang of where shadows go, where the light reveals Form. Filling out the proportions I learned.
Next came colour, sampling the skin for its mid tone and what colour goes in the shadow, how light is the highest point closest to the light? And then, after gathering this data, I still use a reference, trying out new colours and approaches. Next up, freestyle! But that won't be before doing more work from references.
It's simple once you put in the work. Takes some time. My process on these hands is still in my Twitch library, but it has some major Lag, due to how they save video over there
