Description
Ethernet cables, growing, branching, entangling like organic fibers tying our world together.I learned how to make them in our Cisco Networking class in high school. For the California Voice magazine I wanted the table of contents to have this on the right, as we're covering the growth of technology and it's effects on the student-professor // student-material relationship. I got out my Ethernet cord, folded it in half, and ran to the lounge to take the photo. I didn't have a white backdrop, so I arranged the Mah Jongg tiles into a white backdrop and placed the cables on them.

Sweet. Minimalistic, the way I like it. With the photo a bit crisper, I could see this as a wallpaper.
Nice idea with the Mah Johg pieces.

Haha, I love this!! Great idea! I myself am currently enrolled in Cisco academy, I can relate. As soon as I saw the thumbnail and I was like that kind of looks like ethernet cable! Haha, good stuff. I like how it's presented, a minamalistic style, really sells the piece.

nice picture,
i love the white dominant, simply great
it makes me think of japanese art, where white is not simply "blank" like for me (european), but which is an important part of the art....
beautiful !

That wonderful, it reminds me a lot of Unplugged , which had also quite a funky background (my bed), not as funky as mah jong tiles though. Great photo!

Complex Simplicity.
I see most of your work like that. Complexities behind simple images. Simple in line/shape balance, contast, etc. And black and white only enhances those ideas.

The tiles make this what it is.
Good thing you didn't have the backdrop.
However, a thought:
did you try this with the tiles arranged
vertically? It might be work a peek.
(I do think horizontal would be best,
however)

Aren't they just magic?
This shot simply combines technology with relatable human aesthetics. In other words, you win.

I'm taking a Cisco networking class next year.
Mah Jong is my favorite game. I sadly can't afford the real version, and I have to settle for the CD-Rom.
I love this.
