Description
Height 5 foot 7 inchesDex Entry: Infekdread are notoriously hard to keep down. Although their bodies appear frail and worn down, they can take an enourmous amount of abuse. Infekdread often use BITE during battle, with a strange effect. If left untreated, a bitten pokemon may go through a strange phenomenon, where it “evolves” into a new Zomby.
Ability
-Infect-
Attacks involving bites or scratches will change the opponent's ability into "Infected".
-Infected-
Slowly lowers maximum HP with every taken step. If pokemon is knocked out, it will 'evolve' into a Zomby unless revived within 3 minutes of KO. Ability can be reversed only at Pokemon Centers. Once an infected pokemon has been KO'd, reviving the pokemon will not reset the 3 minute count down to transformation.
Evolves from [link] at level 36.
Name origin is a combination of Infect & dread.
(I was thinking about Infekdead at first...but I thought it would sound too much like Infected...)
Shinies are suppose to look like the colorful Day of the Dead skeletons.

Wellll it depends... it WOULD be a nightmare if you went in with a bunch of pokemon you like as-is... but it wouldn't be so bad if you had a pokemon you wanted changed to the Zomby/Infekdread family ;D

so how does one treat the bite of one of these guys so your pokemon does not become a zomby

It can only be treated at Pokemon Centers. I updated the description a minute ago to more clearly describe what happens if you wanna take a look.

oh cool. you should make some special item to heal it. like a shard of a certain color, or a variation of another item. that would be really cool

That takes away from the urgency of the situation
Its somewhat easy to prevent the transformation, yet not at the same time. I like it better with just pokemon center healing.

You should make the item super rare, like they appear in a different location once a month, ONE a month.

deviant to better deviant, after seeing all of the "fake" pokemon, it seems to me like Infekdread might evolve into Belzades, just saying dude, but I love your art!!

Its suppose to look like they belong in the same family, but they don't
Theres only 1 Belzades, which is the source of the Infekdread and Zomby running around. And at least in their area they show up in, Zomby and Infekdread are fairly common. If Infekdread evolved into Belzades, there'd be a bunch of Belzades, thus ruining its whole story.

Wait.... Should they be declared as a outlaw pokemon? Since, they can change other people's pokemon into zomby by using BITE move on them.

Thought about it, but no. Doesn't represent any crime, and it evolves. Outlaw pokemon are always single stage.

This is epic. Nothing more needs to be said. This design makes you the God of Pokemon Design, and Gamefreak should hire you ASAP!
Now for the long awaited summary that no one here was actually waiting for, I went ahead and did a complete Type Matchup for Infekdread, as well as a Signature Move Idea (emphasis on idea) and some Ability Ideas. Interesting choice of typing, putting it on par with Gengar (whether that's good or not is debatable). With proper abilities (and defenses judging by lore), it can stall decently.
Signature Ability Idea A: Infectious
Infekdread forces a foe who makes contact with it to adopt a Ghost/Poison typing.
Signature Ability Idea B: Dead Weight
Infekdread gets a boost in power to all physical moves, and always moves last.
Secondary Ability: Mummy
The opponent's ability becomes Mummy upon making contact with Infekdread.
Signature Move Idea: Virus
The user cuts it's HP in half to infect the foe with a virus. The virus lowers all of the target's stats by two stages.
Type: Poison
Physical/Special/Other: Other
PP: 5 (Max: 8)
Base Power: -
Accuracy: -%

They don't. However, STEEL-Type MOVES hit NEUTRAL against POISON-types.

Prinny-Dood In reply to BBClock [2010-10-14 21:22:23 +0000 UTC]
I've actually taken a cue from the mummy ability since I found out about Desukan having it and what it does, but modified it a bit. The ability is simply called 'Zomby' like Infekdread's pre-evo.
Zomby: The opponent's ability becomes Zomby upon making skin-piercing contact. (IE attacks like bite or scratch) Pokemon with the Zomby ability will 'evolve' into an actual Zomby if not taken to a poke-center within 200 steps. (Doesn't affect Infekdread.)

Now that's a bit unfair, don't you think? While it's cool on paper, I base things off of if the Pokemon actually existed. Nice concept nonetheless, but it'd suck to have your hard-earned reward of a perfect Blissey ruined by "Bite" from Infekdread...

Uh-oh, you're on B4F of Victory Road, your Arceus was bitten by an Infekdread a stupid Ace Trainer had, and now you're on the timer!
What? No Escape Ropes? Oh, right, no one buys those, and you lack a digger. Even if you had either of those, you'd still have to hike all the way back to a city (unless you have fly).
Drat. Oh well, you just lost your Arceus to a stupid ability/move.

well they need to plan ahead better, and as long as they know about infekdread, it would be their own fault.

Prinny-Dood In reply to BBClock [2010-10-15 05:15:53 +0000 UTC]
Infekdread has always done that, its in the description and everything.
I just edited it so the bite's effect can be spread by a non-infekdread pokemon if its been bitten before it turns.

It's the "evolves" part though that bugs me. Seriously, your Darkrai? Bitten by Infekdread owned by computer, no Escape Rope/Dig, and you're on B3F of Victory Road?
Think about it.

Prinny-Dood In reply to BBClock [2010-10-15 06:41:34 +0000 UTC]
Oh I know. Doesn't matter if you have a Bidouche or Celebii, if it gets bitten by an Infekdread, it will 'evolve' into a Zomby. Infekdread are only located in one area of the region, which is not necessary to proceed the story, its entirely optional. If you go there unprepared its your own screw up
My region doesn't play nice, it changes the rules ALOT, and I like it that way.
The only trainers in the game that have Infekdread are in the outlaw league. Infekdread isn't an outlaw pokemon but its still favored by outlaw trainers. And a BUNCH of outlaw pokemon can fuck your pokemon up PERMANENTLY as well, so if you go into that league unprepared, again, its your own screw up.
I mean in the outlaw league one of the outlaw gym leaders FEATURES Misture in his team, and Misture can completely steal one of your pokemon out of your team permanently.
At least when a pokemon becomes a Zomby, its 3 highest stats prior to transformation increase the Zomby's normal base stats proportionally. And since the transformation actually lowers the level of your pokemon to level 10, your pokemon can end up STRONGER than it was in its previous form.
The transformation has draw backs but it actually has perks too

I personally think that 'Infekdead' is a better name. They've got Dewgong and Ditto, which sound like already-existing words. (I mean, ditto isn't a word so much as it is slang, but that's besides the point.) It's got a better ring than InfekdRead, and zombies are usually dead people/animals that are infected with some sort of freak disease.
But that's just me, I suppose. You have a lot of really good ideas for Pokemon. Magnificent gallery!
