They're absolutely canon in my eyes, and their dynamic is undeniably flawless. They really balance each other out, with Tugger's confidence and Misto's whole "not impressed, get over yourself" attitude.

Yeah! Though the things happened in different situations... If I remember correctly Tuggs hugged Mistoffelees in his song when Misto has this "blah blah blah is a terrible bore" line. And Mistoffelees slapped Tugger's ass during the Misto song. I'm not quite sure why he did that, but it was rather amazing : D

I always called him "Mute-Misto", because he didn't talk nor sing. But I came up with the reason, that it might be the language barrier. Weren't like half of the cast from South Africa? I thought that the actor simply couldn't speak English...

I do believe they were, but I'm under the impression English's an official language in South Africa? Perhaps he spoke one of the other languages, it's possible. One can only speculate

I'm not sure, but I think that South-Africa has like 11 official languages (English being one of them). But a lot of the people there speak Afrikaans, which resembles Dutch... But yes, we can only speculate. I wish they'd mention the reason in the pamphlet or something XD

Aww, I had the CATS video on VHS as well, and in some point I watched it so much that the tape almost broke. Luckily I got the DVD now.
