It's okay to promote your art. That's what this site is for lol. The problem is that most ppl here are artists and the term "starving artist" is still relevant lol Everyone is broke these days haha. I could never have the confidence to even think about selling my art. It's admirable of you, I wish I could do that.

It's just that crippling anxiety disorders make it hard to find much other work ha(fuck do I miss my groundskeeper job lol it was awesome...can't wait until I can actually work in my field)...That's why I always make a joke out of my own self-promotion, I don't want to make anyone who can't afford to buy feel badly, but I still need to get my word out there.

I understand you about anxiety disorders...guilty here. So at least now I can get a better sense of where you're coming from. Yeah, it's hard to try and not make ppl feel that way, but you're just doing what you have to do. If this is your passion then you need to just be straight forward and go for it. Promote your art as much as you can don't worry about small things like that. You'll get more gratification from the ones who are seriously interested in your work

Well it depends on what your demographic is and what type of art style you're selling. Once you are definite on that, you'll be able to brainstorm ideas on where to start your ads. Oh that's cool, as long as they're legit and have the proper credentials then go for it! Any ideas or hints on what you'll be collaborating?

Well, I'd make sure you know exactly what he's doing especially if he's getting half of the profits! I'd look online for trusted resources to get info on how to sell your art. You could look into building your own website. You could have a lot of possibilities with that. You could showcase your portfolio which could help with getting jobs and also promote what you have for sale. You could hook up a Paypal link where buyers could buy from you right on the spot. You could set up mailing lists and so forth. Also try looking around to see if there are any art shows nearby where you could showcase your work and interact with potential buyers. Just some suggestions

Well, the thing is my art is essentially just cute soft-nsfw pictures of me outlined. Β That's kind of different from displaying my "art". Β Modelling/art isn't my field at all (I'm in college to be a scientist)

Absolutely, despite, and perhaps because of, my illnesses I'm very smart, or rather, my brain works differently than the brain of the average person. Β To be honest I think science is the only thing I will be happy doing long term, nobody questions a scientist with social problems...in facts it's a bit of a stereotype...so I will fit in fine.
Also me getting a decent paying job is literally my little brother's only chance at going to college...his father is absolute scum of the earth, and unfortunately my brother was named after him so no doubt the poor kid's credit is already shot (yes, the shitfaced fucker is that low), and our mother has shit for credit and is on disability. Β You'd think financial aid would help, but even in my shit position it doesn't do nearly enough (and I'm going to about as inexpensive of a college as I could find)...I don't know, that kid is my life. Β He's a smart kid and I don't want to let our family's shit resources (his being worse than mine, because at least my credit was a clean slate...) ruin his life.

I didn't get to see him last weekend (he's the reason I visit home on the weekends) because he was sick, he actually turned down an invitation to go to a friends house to he could come see me this weekend. Β (He's ten years old by the way lol so he's still in the "omg my big sibling is the best" stage haha)
He has no idea, but I'm getting him Fallout 4 for christmas (part of the reason I'm trying to advertise so much, I'll have the money, but $60 is kind of a wallet drainer...I mean, I'm lucky enough to still be on child support from my Dad, but $156 a month doesn't go very far when it comes to christmas shopping and college)

I really don't haha, just last father's day I realized my Dad doesn't deserve the pedestal I put him on, I mean, I love my Dad, but he's kind of spineless...wicked bitch stepmother is the reason I don't see my Dad much, but he doesn't do anything about her? Β (she's honestly fucking horrible. Β When his best friend died, she told him to "stop crying and grow up" and said that it was Paulie deserved to die because he OD'd -btw she's a crack whore, so she's one to talk-...and when my grandfather died this year, she kicked my Grandmother out of my Dad's house because Grandmother got mad when the bitch said that my Grandfather didn't deserve to be mourned because he was addicted to morphine) Β My Dad is terrified to be alone, but like...you'd think enough would be enough.
And I've never once in my life respected my mother. Β I used to fear her, but that's hardly the same thing...now I just pity her, I love my Mom...now, but regardless of where I technically lived it's my grandparents (my Mom's parents, not my Dad's) that raised me.
