I have seen the same concept in a fantasy army... he played undead but used highelves painted in exactly same mannor... damn did he get flamed for that hahaha... people couldnt get it that it wasnt a highelf army but an undead army.. looks brilliant tho

No I tried throwing wash on a white basecoated model and it didn't work that well these were layered up and thin amount of wash was used to blend the layers together.
If you look closer you'll see the colour is different to thraka green and the models and some of the highlights and shadows are too fine to created from a thick coat of wash.

I love the apparition feel these "Lost Spirits" give. I also love the subtle washing of colors over them, giving them a bland look, but depth

SHIT! Very great job! Idea is good too.. I like those helmets what comes from black templar bits. I like to have those helmets for them but I am not gonna pay 30 euro for helmets. ok there's more useful staff but I have to take all the templar marks away or use some green stuff for my spade marks

Ehhh....to be honest, I'm really not keen on that beige sort of colour you painted them, it wouldn't have been better if there had been some other colour in there to break it up, but the way they are now makes them look like statues. The leader looks awesome though.

because they have bolters that denies 3+ saves, and the can fire at full range and still move which means its hard to out maneuver them with infantry... and the have 4+ save which cant be taken away easily, and come in squads of 20
they cost more than standard marine but can easy kill their points and more.

yeah marine players love'em, the shower them with bolter shells and inexperinced player fire heavy weapons at them... noobs

they are less of a threat if you don't have to get close.. they cant take transport so i like to leave until dangerous targets are down.. like the anti tank weapons..
then.. hammer them with battle cannons till they go away.. and hope your people have good cover save
god forbid they get a squad of 20 camped on the objective...
