Description Behold my Legio Cybernetica Cataphract Robot for my Thousand Sons army and Kill Team for Operation Protineus next month!

At first I tried to paint all 4 robots together as I have only a few weeks before the Kill Team tournament, but since this was my first time painting them I decided to complete one first and see how it worked. And here is the completed robot...

The head was originally blue but it blended too much with the torso so I tried painting it in gold instead which worked a lot better. The trickiest part was the energy cell on the combat weapon.
Someone did make the observation that it looks like a Cygnar Warjack from Warmachine, which was made even more amusing due the the fact they'll be 4 of them lead by a techmarine.

Either way I'm very pleased with the final model and just wished I could include more than a squad of 5 in the army. Now to complete the remaining 4 by the end of the month.

What runs this thing? Remember that A.I is heresy.

Robots we're used during the great crusade and horus heresy. The Thousand Sons controlled them using psychic crystals within the robot's cortex. But for the more detailed description from the 40k wiki...

Constructed from artificially engineered neuroproteins and enzymes, the cortex is the artificial brain of a robot. Imprinted with simple maintenance, task and movement algorithms, the cortex serves as a rudimentary mind, enabling the robot to obey simple instructions from its assigned Tech-adept when away from the battlefield. These "firmware" routines are often patterned after those which exist in the organic neural cortexes of simple living creatures. It is known that a robot commonly develops a canine-like devotion to its technician-master.

Dunno? Might have something to do with most of the 'Legios Cybernetica' siding with Horus during the Heresy?

Prohibited AI's in 40K refer to self-aware, autonomous and self directing cybernetic constructs. Like the "iron men," who decided humanity was obsolete and pulled a skynet/terminator. The closest thing to AI's in 40k are machine spirits, which can range from simple lines of code in bolters, more complex command interfaces in power armor, to semi-sentiant gestalts in the truly ancient dreadnoughts, such as the machine spirit of the Salamanders Venerable Dreadnought Bray’arth Ashmantle. These robots, on the other hand, appear to have artificially produced organic brains. Unlike servitors, who use human brains, these were artificial both in design and production. they were programed to operate at a more instinctual level as described in Proiteus' post. Simple subroutines so they can sorta take care of themselves, and more complicated programing to obey and carry out the orders of their technician-master in combat.

Nice, very nice indeed! What are you using them? Terminators?

Wolf guard terminators, as their the only loyal terminators that can take combi-weapons.

It's a conversion I made and it's created using 20 GW Bits.
