See also: [link]3rd and last one of my oil and water photos from tonight, this one I again played around with the gradients and levels and I think I did a similar sepia/b&w layering like in the other one( [link] ), but with different colors and levels on the gradients... In any case, I kept going back and forth here between cropping out the little piece of my chin or leaving it in the frame, I eventually decided to leave it in because it seemed to bring in more the human element, rather than just some barely covered body...

I think the title was what definitely the hook to this piece. It in itself is something we never really think about and the beauty in its simplicity when there are all other types of art forms around us. But without the piece, the title is left some thought. Overall I think you pulled this work nicely. The lighting is just great, and yes the chin adds the human element, that I feel accentuates the emotion brought by the hands touching the necklace.

I'm really glad this got featured. This and the one linked in your comment are very impressive and well worth the acclaim. The second one form this set was a cool attempt at changing it up but I don't feel for it quite the way i do the the b&w ones. This is even more impressive as a self portrait, and you have more courage than I do getting that close to a camera with oil on your hands. Anyway, again I'm glad this was featured you have a lot of impressive work that i otherwise wouldn't know existed. Keep it up

Wow, I can't even notice that now that you've mentioned it. I suppose all artists are hyper-critical of their own work...but you've got to believe me, this is exquisite. And the hands are so naturally beautiful that no minor detail could ruin the effect
