Sleepy Tenny is right. "Together alone/Alone together" are both accurate, but are grammatically off in this context. "Somebody to be alone with" is much less awkward.

This makes a lot more sense to me now.
I was too fixated on the German saying 'gemeinsam einsam' and wanted to translate it too literally.
