Description Despite it's out-dated designs and the relatively simple technology incorporated, the NeoEarth B-1 is a terrifying weapon. While its sheer size alone is intimidating, it strikes fear into everything on the ground with it's massive bomb-load. Going back to the primitive idea of flying fortresses, the B-1 is not designed to be fast or agile nor was it intended to mount strategic ground attacks on specific target; instead, the Tiamet's main/only role is to completely saturate a large area with air-to-ground bombardment and lay waste to everything within the drop-spread zone of its payload. Due to its lack in speed and manuverability, the armor plating covering most of the bomber is capable of withstanding most mobile-suit weapons (including close-range combat); the massive wings are also designed to maintain lift with only 60% of it's normal wing-surface.

List of minimum crew requirements:

Pilot: 1
Co-pilot: 2
Flight Engineer: 5
Mission controller/navigator: 3
Intel/communication officer: 2
Bombardier: 6
Defense gunners: 12 (1 per turret), recommended: 24
Flight Medic: 3

I would imagine something like this would have a good amount of countermeasures, as well as some sort of coating to protect against lasers. Bombarding it with flak wouldn't work due to the amount of armor on the thing unless they actually score some direct hits which is still possible. Railguns might have a chance of doing damage depending on if they're firing some sort of explosives. Fighters probably wouldn't have much luck against it assuming it did have countermeasures, that would basically mean they would have to face the guns and we all know how that'll turn out.
