I just masked out the leaf and made it look greener. There is a lot you can do in photoshop. Ever played with it?

Great picture, I totally adore the way which you brown-out everything else but the leaf and snail, and the brown and green complement each other too. The only thing I could possibly suggest on a stylistic basis is that perhaps adding a simple border or blur out the edges to focus in on the main center might achieve a better effect, though I can't guarantee.
