I don't think there's a 100mbps connection... but 100 kbps is quite slow for downloading stuffs, but for browsing it's cool!

Naa that's not the speed of your internet connection.
It's because your livebox is connected via your PC through a firewire cable. The maximum speed of transfer of data across the cable is 100mbps.
It's not the actual connection speed there
