Description
An old sketch I did of Chrona. I will admit I made some mistakes. Looking at this now I'm starting to think he should wear clothes.Can I get some honest opinions? Would Chrona look cooler with clothes? If so, what do you have in mind?

It depends on your style of choice for the character itself. Since your trying to keep it more "sonic tradition" almost sonic channel like, sometimes simple clothes can look good.
Personally though its better without due to the epic stitching and the chains.
This character looks pyschotic? Love it. Keep up the work man. Those spines and hair is insane. Hope you do a color in the future.

If you go in my gallery I have a folder titled "Sonic and Sonic OC" which has one only one character up so far called "Demontrie". Unfortunately its..pretty cruddy. I did the inking all freehand instead of pentool so it the lines are not crisp at all.
And yeah? Thats a shame about those circumstances. Hope things get better soon! What is your old account?

Demontrie looks..well, I've been told he looks like a "badass". He is pretty "rugged" actually. Your welcome, I just appreciate Sonic related and Sonic OC art..I really just want to make friends on here that have the same interest as me and in the future do trades and stuff. It was something I wanted to do many many years ago, but life caught to me and now that I have half assed figured out photoshop I can begin.
So, I dig your OCs on the other account, why did you go away from that? harassment from others?

I checked him out and I really have to agree. He does look badass. I like the complexity of his look most of all.
I completely understand wanting to make friends who share a common interest as you. It's the basis of friendship. I will warn you though. The Sonic fanbase is something that has to be approached cautiously. It's pretty much a warzone so to speak.
I do greatly appreciate your interest in my characters. I put lots of thought and effort into each one. That being said I would greatly appreciate your support. And to answer your question I left that account because of some very unpleasant memories.

I have a bad habit of over-doing clothing detail and or clothing in general. Sorta unrealistic to some aspect. I can't do the simple clothing like what other Sonic OC artists are like. Simplicity is not my thing.
And thanks for understanding. So far I have not really made any friends as more that its been just acquaintance like/commenting nicely on others are. I guess because I do not have my own that I have not gotten that far. Also, I'm also wanting to get into Megaman too. Yeah? a warzone? Is it because people are stuck-up or..wha?

Well I used to have the same habit of going far into details. But it's something I kinda grew out but I still kinda do from time to time. I try to really mix things up with each drawing. Each time trying something different, making my style very unorthodox.
You can definitely consider me a friend. I've really enjoyed speaking with you. I can see that you are very different from other people I've. I guess it could be that I sense a great deal of maturity in just the way we've been speaking. As for the Sonic fanbase, yes I can say without question that it is a warzone. Normally a fanbase would bash and clash with other fanbase for superiority. That's not the case here. Sonic fans fight amongst each other over trivial nonsense about the franchise. For example, Sonic's "fans" will literally start a war online due to their disagreement over who should be Sonic's official love interest, Amy Rose or Sally Acorn. They've gone so far as to draw hate art and even start clubs of "we hate Sally" or "We hate Amy" even though they fail to realize that Amy is the love interest on Sega's behalf this includes the video games. While Sally is the love interest on Archie's behalf. This covers the comic series. And the one main factor that would end this all yet they're to blind to see is that the comic series and the game series take place in different universes. Even the old cartoons all have their separate universes. Fighting over the internet over something both sides are to ignorant to look pass really gives us Sonic fan a worse reputation than we already have.
Oh yes. Expect to a lot of my characters show up on this account. Again I'm very glad to have your support. I plan on uploading more art really soon. If you're watching me then expect to be kept up to speed when more art comes your way.

It seems that some of the best Sonic OC known artists out there have the perfect balance of detail (clothing), proportion (body form) and coloring. I speak of such artists like Syaming-li with his Boltstryke/Tempest character. I thinkits a personal preference. Like for myself, I can't make my OC simpler because it would not feel right. I can't image drawing in SA style either aha. Great to hear you want to do something different, thats the sign of a good artist- evolving.
And that is real cool you say that. I have been trying to make friends on here but it feels.."mute". Then again I am on slow internet so I can't get to everyone as fasat on here. The feeling is mutual. Well, I am 26 years old, I'm a old guy and I'm interested in the communities. Thats a crazy perspective about the fanbase, yet at the same time it seems believable. I've not had any real clash with anyone about Sonic/the Sonic universe.
If people actually try to say the Sonic fanbase is better then any fanbase, I'll call them out. That is not the way a fanbase should act. Then again..if I speak about sports I am not any better *laughs* Pride and joy in my state football (gridiron type, not real football/soccer).
I think I have seen posts like that here on Dev-art. Your totally right about seperate universes, even if they are tied a little. The Sonic SatAM was tied with the early on Archie comics. The game series have been tied to the comics (example being Metal sonic in Sonic CD, they did a whole issue of their battle). But the line is a bit thin. Sonic 2006 and Sonic Adventure got tied to the Archie comic heavily too. But yes, Your pretty much right about ignorance of some people.
I worry about if I start putting my OC's out there that I am going to be called a copycat
