I usually just take a photo with my phone because i'm really fucking lazy and don't want to get out the scanner, then i just adjust the contrast in SAI until the background is white enough to the extent where i can do luminance to transparency. after that, it's basically a transparent lineart layer and i just colour beneath; a lot of the times i also make the pencil sketch layer into a coloured multiply layer to give it some tone
