Har. I think I'm on crack.Or maybe I just think too much. Ah well.
Does anyone have things that just stick with them? Like...you don't know where the thought came from, but you're convinced it's true. In FFVII, it's established that Cloud is 5' 7" (two inches below average for a guy, hahahahaha) and in FFVIII, Squall is 5' 8". But Cloud's 21 and Squall's only 17, which means he probably has some growing to do...and in Kingdom Hearts, he's about 25. So *mame-inu and I kind of went "he's 5' 10" ", and that stuck, even though it's not official. XD So I always draw Leon a few inches taller (even though it's hard to tell because of Cloud's HAIR.)
But despite being smaller, Cloud's got a bigger sword. (You! Keep your mind out of the gutter!) So it stands to reason he'd be physically stronger...I mean, that is a big hunk of metal. Make that six. SIX. Get me now?

From what I read, Squall is about 5' 8" in FFVIII... if he has grown, then he'd be about 5' 9" or 10... and if KH2 Cloud is based off FFAC stats, he's gained a few inches to his height.
And Cloud's age in KH2 is 23, is it not? Because from KH1 he is aged 22. I always thought Leon was older, because he's the bigger man, lol... and he says his home planet was destroyed 9 years ago in KH1, so 17+9 = 25. In KH2 he must be 26...

Cloud's age in KH II is 23, same as AC...but I always thought Leon was only 2 years older. (23 in KH1, 25 in KH II) There's an article on it somewhere...see, Kingdom Hearts is like an alternate universe crossover, so I always felt there wasn't much reference to the original FF games besides the characters themselves. After all, their home world is Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden, but they're from different FFs originally.
It really depends on the person, how long they keep growing. My brother stopped growing at age 21. Of course, my fannon says that Cloud is an inch taller (5' 8") in AC...I could swear I read it somewhere, but I can't cite it. But I go by that.
It's also iffy just how much time passes between KH1 and KH II...probably no more than two years, but I don't think it's exactly a year either. So it really depends on when people's birthdays are.

I agree with your fannon where Cloud is stronger, but Leon is taller XD And I actually thought Squall was originally 5'10" when I first played FFVIII! Until a friend asked me to convert his height to cm, so I looked it up in the manual, and total shock, omg.
Though, my explanation for stronger!Cloud is because although he has lower HP than Leon (In Hades Cup) , he compensates with Omnislash/Sonic Rave/AUUGHSTABFROMSKYDODGEROLLNOW XD Yours makes more sense tho

...D'oh. I just understood what you meant about Squall's height. Hah. I get it now. He does seem like he'd be tall, doesn't he...(I'm 5' 10" myself omg) But I guess if you compare him to Irvine and Seifer (both 6' or over x.x ) the difference is more obvious. Hard to tell with game sprites though.
....man, Seifer is a BIG guy. And isn't he the same age as Squall? Everyone calls him a "kid" in KHII, but realistically he's probably a few years older than Roxas, who's the same age as Sora, making him about 17--the same age as he was in FFVIII! ...I bet his jacket just had a lot of padding. >:

Seifer IS huge! I remember thinking to myself: "Seifer is taller than Sephiroth?!! WHAT?!" XD I think he's a year older than Squall though. I think he got held back, or something like that? I haven't played VIII for a while now though.
But in KHII, I thought he was 16, because he looks about the same height as Riku or so? Kind of because Rai and Fu also look friggin young, way younger than in VIII, so they don't seem as if they'd be 17-18, and Seifer's got to be around their age?

True...I just don't see how being 16 is more of a kid than he was in FFVIII, I guess...maybe it's because I'm 17 myself, hah...there's not that big a physical difference between the ages of 16-18, really. Though maybe he hit a biiiiig growth spurt. (or he was a good little boy and drank his milk. >.> )

Yeah, well, their heights in the game manuals aren't in metric in the English versions...so it gets confusing.
I bet the darkness stunted Cloud's growth. (and in FFVII, it was probably all that mako crap. XD)
<3 fannon talk...oh man...my friends and I have such a buildup of fannon...like Leon is an amazing cook, Cloud is allergic to oranges, etc, etc. XD
Cloud also doesn't use magic, which makes sense. (in KH, that is) While Leon's like "FIRAGA!" and Sora's like "HOLY CRAP I'M ON FIREEE"
