You know, this has been mostly done for several weeks, but I couldn't get Cloud's anger mark to look right. ....yeah, you heard me. Sometimes I hate being a perfectionist, too. Actually, most of the time....this is something that's been bothering me for a while. I'll admit there's nothing terribly wrong with Cloud getting slashed with everyone in and out of fandom because, hey, what are you going to do about it. People ship what they want to ship, and you can't criticize someone else's pairing without being a hypocrite. What I have a problem with is said slashability (it is a real word, stfu) affecting the character's canon personality. Just because Cloud is fandom's whore--okay, slut--doesn't mean he IS one. WTF people. Arghhh.
(...a lot of it has to do with the Wallmarket thing and this misconceived notion that Cloud wore a dress because he wanted to and is therefore flaming and sleeps around with everyone. 1. One does not have to crossdress to be gay! 2. As hilarious as it was, the dress was Aerith's idea. Cloud took it off as soon as humanly possible. Did anyone actually play FF7!? Seriously.)
That said, it's also more like everyone wants to get into Cloud's pants than him wanting to get into theirs. Pfft. Poor kid.

To answer your last question... no. I am beginning to think very few Cloud and Sephy fans have actually played the games they're from, for some odd reason. It doesn't make sense, but 9 times out of 10, I try to mention something from the game to a Cloud and/or Sephiroth fanatic, and they have no clue what I'm talking about.

As much as the "You must have played the original game or we'll rip out your throat" elitists in the fandom annoy me, they do kinda have a point. Too many people are drawn to FF7's personality by the looks of the characters and don't bother to play the game...so yeah, you're right >.< So many people just say "ooh pretty!" and don't bother thinking about what the characters are really like...
The other thing is that the game is good. Actually good. Better than some recent games that have better graphics than it.

Yeah, but try and get a newer gamer to actually go back and play a game that you have to actually -read- the words. <_<;' They're spoiled with voice actors. And honestly, I don't think voice actors make a game any better- both FFX and FFVII were about 40 hour games, right?
Which one had a longer script? Voice acting, in my opinion, reduces the amount of plot you can have. ..this coming from someone whose life goal is to become a voice actor... >.o;' Ouch.
Anyway, I was always more of a fan of some lesser-known Square games: Final Fantasy Tactics (back in the PS1 days, it -was- lesser known), Vagrant Story, and Parasite Eve. Still, FFVII was a pretty decent game. I just wish it wasn't so over-rated.

Hee hee. I love Zack, but for some reason in my mind he's just...incredibly straight. I dunno, just my impression of the character. XD I don't have a problem with Zack/Cloud, it just doesn't really do anything for me.
Zack would totally be like "eh....*shrugs and goes after Sephiroth or Aerith*" in response to Leon being defensive, lol. XD (Zack is more of a whore than Cloud, but I love him anyway. XDDD )

Cloud and Leon are definitely equals...I do support the switching off thing. (as Hana says--"whoever gets to the lube first" XD *dies a little* ) They have different personality traits that balance each other out. That and my problem with the "Cloud the perpetual uke" thing is that Cloud...is really stubborn. He wouldn't stand for getting pushed around all the time. XD

Oh trust me! I like Zack as the incredibly straight whore-man also! Its just, the Zack cosplayer with me is a shipper of ZackxCloud, and we had an argument like that over MSN ( "Get lost, porcupine head!" "Grow some masculinity, pussycat!" ) and decided it'd make a funny skit. I like seeing Zack as the matchmaker for Leon and Cloud - he doesnt really suit being the "NO I LOVE HIM GET LOST KITTYFACE D:" kinda guy. I noticed that about halfway through writing. xD

Yeah, I mean, personality-wise Cloud is kind of...gruff. He's got rough edges. It's weird how so many doujin artists and such portray him as this like...little blushing schoolgirl or something...wherever did they get it?
It was great in the game, and I think what made it better was the fact that Cloud was so HORRIFIED when Aerith suggested it, and everyone kept saying "Oh, so you're one of those kind of guys" and he kept protesting, but she dragged him around anyway...XD
