SIGH. Slow progress, slower updates. This is a commission for Reese Averiette and their significant other! Sorry you had to wait so long, but I do hope you like it. Had to input a lot of little details into this one, jeez! But I'm rather happy with the way the wyvern came out. I do enjoy spikes... and claws... and teeth... Y'know, just the whole monster thing has a lot of enjoyment to itfrom my side.
But holy hell! When was the last time I drew a background like that?! I mean, I do backgrounds, sure, but I cant remember the last one that was in daylight. And all that grass and blue sky. I feel like I'm a bit out of touch. Soooo I tried some new stuff with it, shading, dandelion seeds, new pallets (I think), ect. Lemme know what'cha think!

Thank you so much! I'm always pretty strict with my lineart, I think it was to do with being a perfectionist. Though I think your right about the foreground and the perspective. It ended a lot differently than I originally had in my head. But hey, I guess its a learning process ^^

How are you able to put so much detail on the background? Is there a trick, brush, or just really good patience? I use GIMP as well Btw.

Patience! LOTS of patience! I dont really use any brushes that aren't default (I also use an older version of GIMP, so I dont have a lot of options). It helps to do a messy sketch before hand though. Scribbles where you want obvious grass, bushes, trees, ect. I'm a bit messy with my backgrounds, so they never take as long as one might think (couple hours at most) Grey scale really helps with perspective though!
