Description
The point of these was to do several quick, two minute sketches in order to 'grind' at concepts in order to get more used to drawing them... but I find myself spending longer and longer on some of the 'sketches', when I SHOULDN'T!1Anyway, yet more fiddling around with the idea of an anthro deer face thing. For some reason, I'm focusing on a female one, even though from the few quick attempts I've made at males, they seem easier... though I obviously can't draw antlers for toffee. I'll need to study more references of those.
I1 is like the 'Star Trek alien' version! A person in make-up. o_O
I wondered whether it'd be easier to do expressions that way, but it just looks sort of creepy.
I got gradually less and less human-like as I went on, and more stylised and cartoony too... but I've yet to decide on a look that I'm satisfied with. More grinding is necessary!1
This is only my second day ever of drawing anthros though, and my third day ever of drawing deer, so I hope I'm getting somewhere at least!1
My ULTIMATE GOAL with these, by the way, isn't necessarily to draw 'anthropomorphic deer', but to have a race of humanoids whose appearances are inspired by deer. I'll then use them in a project that I've got planned!

Well, I think you should take a stylized deer's body and put a completely photo-realistic human head above the neck. That would be so orgasmagorical, which is totally a word, and not creepy.
I do think that you've already come really far considering you only started just a few days ago, I guess you're very excited or something?! I'd wonder what a big work would look like at this point! Probably big!! We all know girls like it big!!!
Also, the deer should obviously look like this: [link] I am 100% certain that this fits your project, whatever it might be.
